2005 Twins Winter Caravan
January 17-20 & January 24-27
Presented in part by WCCO Radio, the Twins Radio Network, and Fox
Sports Net North, the 45th annual Winter Caravan features five teams
of current and former players visiting numerous schools, hospitals
and Upper Midwest corporations and service clubs during the day with
a traditional "hot stove league" program slated for each evening.
Each leg will be led by members of the Twins radio/television
broadcast team, including John Gordon, Dan Gladden, Dick Bremer,
Bert Blyleven and Clay Matvick. Each leg will also feature
appearances by Twins Sports Inc., President Jerry Bell, Twins
President Dave St. Peter, Twins General Manager Terry Ryan, and
representatives from the Minnesota Twins.
Among the current Twins to be included in the stops will be catcher
JOE MAUER, outfielder LEW FORD, pitcher JOE NATHAN, manager RON
GARDENHIRE, third base coach AL NEWMAN, pitcher CARLOS SILVA,
infielder MICHAEL CUDDYER, pitcher KYLE LOHSE, catcher/designated
hitter MATTHEW LeCROY, pitching coach RICK ANDERSON, pitcher GRANT
BALFOUR, infielder TERRY TIFFEE, and pitcher JESSE CRAIN.
Former Twins greats TONY OLIVA, HARMON KILLEBREW, ROD CAREW, and
KENT HRBEK are also planning to be a part of the Caravan on selected
stops. The schedule and players appearing are all subject to change.
Each leg will be led by members of the Twins radio/television
broadcast team, including John Gordon, Dan Gladden, Dick Bremer,
Bert Blyleven and Clay Matvick. Each leg will also feature
