Subject: How to Punch So That Your Opponent Feels Like They Got Hit With a Cinder Block

There is a certain technique that you can add to your martial arts, MMA, or
boxing training that will make your opponent feel like they have just been hit
in the face with a cinder block. Read on to find out more about this ancient
training technique that is just as useful today.
Martial artists and fighters are continuously looking for new routines,
workouts, and techniques that bring their punching power to the next level. Here
is the one thing that you can start doing today to bring your punching power to
the cinder block level:
Start using a makiwara board for your fight training. frequent use of the
makiwara could forge your fists into objects that feel like bricks against
your opponent's head. Bag training, shadow boxing, and sparring are all great
methods of fight training, but once you add the makiwara into your training mix,
your opponent better watch out.
The makiwara is a flexible board that is mounted to a base, which is mounted to
the floor of your practice space. The top of the board has a small, thin pad as
a striking target. You can also use the makiwara for kicking practice as well.
As you train with a makiwara, the bones in you fists will become more dense,
similar to the leg bones of a runner as the put on the miles. You may also
develop callouses on the knuckles that you are using to punch. As you increase
you punching power when hitting the makiwara, your fists get used to hitting a
stiff surface, similar to punching someone in the face (a thin skin over a hard
surface).
You can easily make your own makiwara, because a store-bought one can be a few
hundred dollars, but you should stay away from makiwaras that are buried in the
dirt, since they will move over time and you have to work out outdoors. Also
stay away from wall-mounted makiwaras, because they could provide serious injury
to your hands, since the target does not bounce.
