can i just ask how it was POSSIBLE for three other sports clubs to use video
last year then. I believe basketball, judo and some other club had it last
year. Barrys breakdancers had one as well.
They are just fobbing you off. Get a huge extension cable and track it back to
my house....
If they won't give you one, screw em. Bring your own tv and video and connect
it up. They'll get arsy, you take it down, they shut up, then you put it up
again.
I mentioned this point to annie last year and i seem to remember her being quite
receptive to our problem. Has anyone actually asked. I suggest the answer is
no.
If you can't get a powerpoint then move the stall, block a corridor somewhere,
at least TRY.

AArgh! no, don't use geocities, you'll drive them all away!
Right, Rich, thanks for your comments, you are right I'll stay away from
freshers fair and let you sit behind the table for two days and see how many
people you manage to encourage to sign up by *not* stopping them and telling
them how great the game is.
Unfortunately I doubt that you will be able to get a TV, we were told last year
that there was no way we coul have one so the only option really is to use a
laptop. Dale has the Jesters video I produced last year, the intro section is
pretty good though the rest of it doesn't show our play in the best light.
I have a box full of stuff, including some fliers and all our trophies that
someone will need to get off me sometime, I will let you know when I am back in
Leicester.

hey all,
also just got back from glastonbury. I even met someone from the festival on my
plane, that was wired! Ok, sorry, no one really gives a damn about that...
I think the idea of having some women from Red on the stall would be really
good. If there were only men, no one would really know that it also is a mixed
sport, and only men would sign up. ("skinny white boyse who lech too much"?
thanks...)
As jake said, it is not possible to have a powerpoint at freshers fair, no
matter how much you insist to get one. The only way would be having a laptop and
playing some ultimate videos like "running with the flattballers", the two Ben
mentioned, or even a home made one. I'm sure with some effort you can come up
with a decent one.
I also have A LOT of pictures from the Norwich Indoor Tournament, from the
Sandbanks Beachfest, from training and socials. You could make a big funky
poster with a lot of random pictures. If you need them I can post them to you
jake. It could make the stall look less serious and more interesting.
I also have quite a few short videos (35 seconds) which have a very low
resolution, but some of them are really good, like the ones from the game
against UCD in Norwich, or while practicing layouts during training.
And one more thing would be having a website. It doesn't necessarily have to be
amazing, but just something freshers could visit to have an idea who's running
the team, and what is ultimate is about. If no one really has the IT knowledge
to do it, you could just use Geocities page builder, and make one in just half
an hour.
Alright, I'll now stop annoying everyone. I'm not even going to be there next
year. But I'll be back, so it matters to me what's going to happen to the team
next year, ha!
