In European Christmas legend, Krampus is the enforcer of the "Naughty
List". A horned, devilish-looking figure with fanged teeth and a
skinny, human like body...beating those ill-mannered children of the
world with whips and chains to remind them that next year, it would
be a benefit to get on Santa's good side.

Southern Tier Brewery has an awesome concoction honoring the efforts
of Krampus, and providing a non-traditional holiday beer for those of
us lavishing in the season. Simply called "Krampus", this beer would
nearly be considered a "dessert beer" if not for the unusual high
amount of hoppiness found within the bomber-size bottles. This brew
makes one think of summer while just a tad of that holiday seasoning
brings you back to the festive time at hand. It's 9% ABV is enough
to redden the cheeks, put a smile on one's face, and want to snuggle
in with a warm blanket, a fresh pint glass, and a good television
show while the winds outside play havic.

Southern Tier makes several good seasonals and variations. At this
time, "Krampus" is only available in bombers in our area so make sure
you plan to either A: Drink it all, or B: Share it with a good friend
before you pop the cap.
