hi~~~
finally made it here - just want to mention another good JC site
(actually I think it's the best Spanish + English JC site) -
http://www.iespana.es/ferrero/
see ya!
Here r my reviews on some English JCF sites that i visited recently:
SPANISH MOSQUITO website by Angela:
This is pretty much one of the best sites i've ever visited. The
layout n colours used are not too stylish or fancy that could attract
people at juz one look BUT it's the contents of the site dats really
good. The webmaster updates the site regularly, her Get Personal and
Say What? sections r the best to me n u'll even get a chance to see a
pic of a house.(not juz any house...a house dats potentially once
JC's house). Anyway, check it out:
http://www.angelfire.com/ego/spanishmosquito/jcferrero_frame.htm
Juan Carlos Ferrero:
This site covers only a small area of Ferrero like his profile n pics
only but still a job well done cuz there's even links to other
players like Haas,Safin,Roddick,Philippoussis n Gambill made by the
same webmaster. Check it out:
http://ikisstennis.ifrance.com/ikisstennis/jcferrero.htm
Art Mosquito by Tracy:
This is my first ever english site that i visited when i first became
JC's fan n it's still one of the best sites. It's totally well
organised with cool layout. News updated here r based on both men's n
women's tennis/tournaments not juz JC. There's plenty of features in
this site actually so check it
out:http://www.angelfire.com/art/mosquito/welcomecenter.html
The Ferrero Chaser by Kat:!!NEW WEBSITE!!
This is a MUST-SEE website of Ferrero n perhaps i'd call this the
BEST sites of all the site i visited today for this review thingy.
Not only it's blended with yellow n orange colours, nice layout n
many features but also a well updated site...so far it's the most
well updated site n considering it a new site created by Kat, i think
she deserve a lot of credit...hmm...so i think u all shld check her
site out!:http://www.jcferrero.com/
**WELL, I GUESS THAT'S ALL THE SITE I VISITED TODAY TO REVIEW
ON...MAYBE IF I FIND SOME MORE NICE SITES ON JCF, I'LL POST. CYA.***
Thanks 4 your info.. :-)

TENNIS MASTERS SERIES
Monte-Carlo, Monaco
J.C. FERRERO/T. Haas
6-3, 6-1
An Interview With:
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. What do you think of your level of game at the
moment? It seems to be up and down.
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO: My level is rather good now. It's
getting better and better as the tournament progresses. I saved a
volley which was matchpoint. It started badly, but I saved it. It
was really a good shot.
Also, against Rios I was very confident, and I played a
very solid match. It's a good moment for me.
Q. Why do you think your game is starting to come
together at this particular moment, which is, of course, the best
time of the year for it to come together anyway?
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO: Of course now I'm at my best. But
before, I was injured in my ankle and I couldn't practice and play on
hardcourts so I didn't have many matches on this surface. And before
coming in here, I only played a quarterfinal before this tournament.
Now I'm very pleased to be able to reach maybe the finals and maybe
become a champion.
I must say I feel more at ease on these type of courts,
but you must not forget that I went pretty far in Australia, and in
Dubai I did well also. So it's not only here that I'm playing well.
Q. Next time you are going to play either Henman or
Johansson. Are you surprised to find them at this stage of the
competition?
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO: No, I'm going to play with Costa or
Grosjean.
Q. Oh. Are you surprised to see any one of them at this
stage of the competition?
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO: I'm not surprised to see Grosjean
or Costa reaching this stage of the competition because they are very
good clay court players, both of them.
Grosjean has the public with him. And also they have the
game to reach a quarterfinal.
And Costa, of course, as you know ? I don't need to
say ? he's one of the best clay court players we have.
THE MODERATOR: Your question was about Henman, though?
Q. Yes.
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO: Regarding Henman and Johansson
reaching this stage of the competition, I'm a bit surprised, it's
true.
But for Henman, we've seen he's improved his game on clay
a lot during the past two years. He plays well from the baseline.
He goes up to the net very often. I'm a bit surprised, but I saw
he's been working a lot on his game on this surface. He improved.
Of course, then the results come.
As far as Johansson is concerned, I think he's a good
player on all surfaces although it costs him a bit more on clay.
Q. How close do you think you are to your very best
level at this moment?
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO: I don't know how close I am to my
best level. I know I can play better than I am. But we never know
if you're 90% or 100%, it's very difficult to tell.
But I know I'm playing well. I'm making very few
mistakes. The only thing that I'm still lacking a little bit is
serving better. That's what I still need to improve.
Q. What do you think about Carlos Moya in this
tournament until now?
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO: He's a player with many qualities.
His forehand hurts his opponent a lot. He's very powerful.
Physically, he can stand any kind of situation. I'm not surprised
he's reaching the quarters, and I will not be surprised if he beats
Safin. I think he's playing a very good tournament.
Q. Do you believe that Carlos Moya is your main opponent
in this tournament?
JUAN CARLOS FERRERO: He will be my main opponent if we
are both playing each other in the finals. But before that, I have
two matches to play. So for the time being, he's not yet my main
opponent. I have other matches to play.
FastScripts by ASAP Sports...
OMG!!! That's great!!! I bet Ferrero is damn happy!!!! =) Wish i
could have seen the match!!

Monte-Carlo on Sunday afternoon.

Hey all!
JCF's match has just finished not more than 10 mins ago, and I
thought I would let you know that he won! Not only did he win, but
he did it in style thrashing Tommy Haas of Germany 6-3, 6-1. He will
be taking on the winner of Grosjean vs. Costa, so lets hope he can
show the same dominant form tomorrow.
Miss Juanqui
HEy all, haven't been updating my 2 groups lately but i'm back to do
the job again rite now. WHile i was away...I still got a chance to
check the results from Monte Carlo n i'd say it has been a wonderful
tournament so far n it juz gets better or shld i say interesting rite
now....look at the 2 out of the 8 players that are in the
quarterfinals n u'll know wat i mean...then look at the meetings of
the players...i think if there's no injuries or watsoever occurs to
any players...the quarterfinal matches r a great fun to watch n lotsa
action to be witness. So let's wait till the outcome of the
quarterfinals!
Quarterfinal Matches:
JC FERRERO vs TOMMY HAAS
MARAT SAFIN VS CARLOS MOYA
SEBASTIAN GROSJEAN VS ALBERT COSTA
TIM HENMAN VS THOMAS JOHANSSON
well, our Ferrero will be up against the tricky Marcelo Rios in the
next round, after beating Felix Mantilla in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 7-
6!
it will be a three-setter again, i think.
Defending champion Juan Carlos Ferrero was sent crashing out in the
second round of the Estoril Open by Argentina's David Nalbandian.
Nalbandian saved three match points against the top seed before
winning 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) to record his first victory over a Top 10
player and reach his third quarterfinal of the year (Auckland, Buenos
Aires).
"This was the best win I've had against a top player," Nalbandian
said. "I've beaten some good players, but this is my biggest victory.
I had faith in winning today and that really helped me."
Nalbandian said his goal for the end of the year is to finish in the
Top 30-40 in the rankings and this win really helped him feel good
about his game. "This match really helped me gain more confidence in
my game and hopefully I'll continue to play well."
The 19-year-old Nalbandian, a finalist on clay at Palermo in 2001,
now meets No. 5 seed Sjeng Schalken for a place in the semifinals
after the Dutch star defeated Dominik Hrbaty 7-5, 6-4.
Ferrero, the tournament's No. 1 seed and defending champion, said he
knew playing Nalbandian was going to be a challenge. "I knew playing
him was going to be difficult, because he had been playing well
lately," Ferrero said. "His play was solid and I made some mistakes.
My serving was not too good today."
Ferrero had returned to the court this week following a nagging
injury to his left foot and said his foot did not give him any
problems in either of his first two matches. He said plans to head
back home to Villena, Spain for a couple of days and prepare for next
week's Tennis Masters Series Monte Carlo.
Elsewhere on day three, Radek Stepanek won the battle of the
qualifiers after he came through 6-1, 7-6(7) against Juan Antonio
Marin to reach the quarterfinal stage, while No. 2 seed Marat Safin
finished his delayed first round match with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory
over lucky loser David Ferrer, who was playing in his first ever ATP
tournament.
Safin was leading 3-1 in the final set on Tuesday when play was
suspended due to darkness. He now will meet Adrian Voinea for a place
in the quarterfinals. Galo Blanco also progressed to the second round
with a straight-sets win against fellow Spaniard Alberto Martin and
now takes on Jarkko Nieminen.
In the day's final singles match, Argentina's Guillermo Coria retired
from his match with Fernando Meligeni in the third set with cramps,
handing the Brazilian the 5-7, 6-3, 4-4 win.
JC Ferrero defeated Cedric Pioline in 2 straight sets 7-5,6-2 to move
into the next rnd n set up a meeting with D.Nalbandian who defeated
Spanish clay courter Clavet 6-3,6-4.
Gd Luck JC.
Unfortunately...USA is thru the semis now after they win 3-2 against
Spain. Alberto Martin played not too good against Roddick who was
playing damn brilliantly :( So that handed the victory to the
Americans....Robredo in the other hand, helped to win the last
singles match when he defeated Blake!=) The scoreline was 6-1,5-4
when Blake, i think, retired frm the match. If Corretja had
play...maybe he could beat Roddick? n Spain could win? but then if
Corretja won against Roddick, sure the US team would send Sampras to
play against Robredo rite?...ah well...we can't change things dat has
already happen...anyway at least now we know Ferrero would play in
Estoril next. =)

im scared; Robredo vs Sampras?? hes not ready for this! oh well. im
still rooting for the spunky Spaniards. :-)
i want them to go thru to the semis, so JC can play.
Alex Corretja stayed true to his theory. He said in Davis Cup, "In
one day, in one match, anything can happen". With that in his mind,
he scored a stunning victory in the quarterfinal tie of the Davis Cup
by BNP Paribas by coming back from two sets to love down to beat
the "master of grass", Pete Sampras, 4-6, 4-6, 7-6(7/4), 7-5, 6-4.
The three hour 56 minute win by Corretja, which was only his fourth
on grass in a twelve-year career, allowed Spain to level the tie at 1-
1 with the USA. In the first match of the series Andy Roddick used
his booming serve to beat Tommy Robredo 6-3, 7-5, 7-6 (9/7).
"This goes in a very high position (in my career)," said
Corretja. "It's always nice when you win tournaments but beating
Sampras on grass after losing the first two sets. It makes something
special, and especially when it's in Davis Cup.
"I would like to be in Europe when the people there read in the
morning that Corretja beat Sampras on grass. As a professional tennis
player, this is something pretty satisfying."
Sampras was looking for his 100th win on grass. This is only the
second time that Sampras has lost a five set match on grass.
"It was certainly a surprising (turn of events) to be up two sets and
Pete playing as well as he was," said US captain Patrick
McEnroe. "But Corretja is a great competitor. He hung in there and
slowly started to turn the match around. But, you know, we're still 1-
1. I still like where we are. I'd like to be 2-0, I'd prefer to be 2-
0. I can't say I'm not disappointed that we're 1-1. So I like where
we are. Corretja had to work awfully hard in the match. And, you
know, we'll be ready for the doubles."
Corretja had started to mix up his game when he won the tiebreak and
on grass a tiebreak can be a shoot out, a "roll of the dice". On the
big points he was serving to Sampras' backhand and the American
started to get a bit defensive on the return. Still, Sampras had his
fair share of opportunities but it seemed that his confidence was a
bit shot, but that's just the way Davis Cup is and that's what it can
do to any great player. This is not about playing for oneself but for
one's national pride.
"Crazy things happen. It's one match; it's not a course of a long two-
week tournament. That's what makes Davis Cup unique and exciting,"
said McEnroe. It wasn't that Pete wasn't giving the effort, he was,
he was giving as much as he could. It just didn't click. And Alex
came up with great shots when he needed to."
Sampras was almost shell-shocked. It was a case of snatching defeat
from the jaws of victory. As he put it: "Definitely a match I should
have won on paper." He naturally felt like he was in control but he
possibly underestimated the Spaniard on grass and if you "take your
foot off the pedal for just a moment" a result like this can happen.
"I'm kind of kicking myself a little bit," said Sampras. "The whole
match kind of changed after the third set. He grew some confidence
and started playing a little bit better. I had a ton of chances, I
really did."
Earlier Andy Roddick had used his booming serve to great effect
against Tommy Robredo. At times he hit serves registering 140 mph as
he claimed their match in one hour 48 minutes.
The doubles rubber will be played on Saturday with the Americans
being represented by Todd Martin and James Blake for the first time
in Davis Cup, while Spain will put forward it's experienced
combination of Corretja and Juan Balcells. Both team have expressed a
desire to maintain the nominated combinations although they have up
to one hour before the match to change partnerships.
"A doubles change could happen and we'll talk about it but I feel
good about the two guys," said McEnroe. "They'll be ready to go. If
we decide to change, you'll be first to know, but I'm not planning on
it."

this is a petition to see more attention given to doubles (weird I

I got this from an email sent by another yahoo group. I don't know
if
this is true though? I mean, I know they are introducing paid yahoo
mail for extra storage and stuff, but... Just read and act asap
anyway!
Unfortunately there appears to be a proposal by Yahoo to introduce
charges for the operation of Groups such as this as well as Yahoo
Mail, etc. Clearly this would have a major effect on the future of
this group so if you are against this proposal, please be sure to
sign
the online petition and get further details at:
