Why the Organization?

 

It is organized to engaged its joint activities for promoting, protecting and improving the social, spiritual and economic well being of all its members in the maritime sector – the SEAMAN or the SEAFARER.

 

What is the Seaman's Party?

 

It is the real organization representing the unrecognized, neglected, exploited, manipulated and discriminated component of the maritime sector which is the SEAMAN or SEAFARER.

 

Who are the Members?

 

Membership to the party will be the following:

 

  1. All POEA registered seafarers.
  2. All Marina registered seafarers.
  3. Students and cadets of maritime schools, training centers and TESDA centers.
  4. Seafarers Families
  5. Those who share cause and benefit from the seafaring profession.
  6. Non-maritime oriented individuals or groups, but is sympathetic to the cause of improving the well-being of the seaman or seafarer as a whole.

 

Who will be the beneficiaries?

 

  1. All the above including their families and friends.
  2. The Filipino seafarers and Filipino People
  3. The Philippine Government
  4. The seafaring profession and the maritime industry locally and globally.

 

Who, What is the Pinoy Seafarer?

 

  1. "THE UNKNOWN STAKEHOLDER". He is at the forefront in running the country's commerce and industry.
  2. "AN UNSUNG HERO". A great contributor in the Dollar Reserve. His/Her 80% or more monthly wage remittance beefs up the country's economy.
  3. "A MAGNANIMOUSE PAUFER". He is not the owner of his salary as it goes to his allotee.
  4. "A REGULAR BALIKBAYAN". He spends more time at sea than at home with his family.
  5. "A VIRTUAL MOTHER/FATHER". He/She doesn't see how the children grow.
  6. "THE GREAT MERCENARY". Hops from one company to another.
  7. "AN EXPLOITED DUDE". Cheated by agencies, training centers, schools and other institution in the country.
  8. "THE GREAT PROVIDER". Regular unwilling donor of legal and illegal fees extracted by various agencies.
  9. "THE CONFUSED SAILOR". Pestered by too many agencies imposing different requirements.
  10. "the dazzled seafarer". Tied with too many documents, too many processing and endless paper trails.
  11. "THE GUNIEA PIG". Subject of many unclear requirements and conflicting interpretations of rules and regulations like STCW.
  12. "DOUBTED THOMAS". Choked with too many training, examination and assessments, yet his competence is always in question.
  13. "IGNORANT PROFESSIONAL" Unsuspecting victim of leach like lawyers pretending to fight for his/her right but for a very high fee.
  14. "A ONE DAY MILLIONAIRE". Is open penniless before he goes back to sea.
  15. "PREMATURE RETIREE". Is good only until fifty (50) years old.
  16. "BENIFITLESS RETIREE". Is tired or retired but no retirement fee.
  17. "FISH OUT OF THE SEA". Benefitless, powerless, penniless when not at sea.
  18. "STRANGERS IN HIS COUNTRY AND HIS/HER FAMILY". Discriminated, despised and often misunderstood.
  19. "A MARKED VICTIM (PREY)". Is a victim of loan sharks, of land devils, who rob him of his earnings, wife and even life.
  20. "A PRECIOUS COMMODITY". Is often traded by dummies (Pseudo manning agencies owned by foreigner but registered as Filipino Owned.)

 

Platform of Governance

 

Objective: To implement the mission and attain the vision as embodied in the organizational by-laws.

To develop a world class Filipino seafarer who is:
