2008 is a great sporting year for JBLFMU. Finally winning two major
sports events in addition to swimming and other minors awards is a new
milestone for this infant university.

After several attempts, finally JBLFMU coveted the ILOPRISAA basketball
championship crown. For the sporting fans of JBLFMU this a dream come
true, and the song "For the First Time" becomes a new anthem for them.
Donking Sasuman (Coach) and Dr. James Montehermoso (Manager) finally
vindicated their two succesive failed attempts by winning this
championship crown.

In addition to basketball sucess, is another rare feat for the football
team, winning the ILOPRISSAA Football back to back crown.

This two major events sweetened the success of JBLFMU Swimming Team,
the perennial winner of local and Regional Sports meet in Westen
Visayas.

The University fared well also in minor events such as Taekwondo, Table
Tennis, Sepak Takraw and Chess.
