Making the difference :: Quality...

From the Forum - Tue Dec 26 06:39:40
2000

Jan had succeed throu rhytm and frequence.
Besides
of his great throwing technique, his best advantage
is the run and crossovers.
He can start the
throwing fase from a good & relaxed position, where the
transition sound like music.

I've seen great throwers
accelerating fast but in the end they just jump with a too
large stride and can't keep a low CG or a good
plant!

Jan focus on use feet and knees to get a low CG run
with rhytm and use the frequence to avoid
jumping!

To get this atribute you have to think on that on
every runnig drill.
The quality of foot action.
The use of Knee.
The left arm.
If you train
this on every drill, after 9 week you'll experience a
new and easy full run!

...

If YOUR
problem is a transition from 5 step throwing drill to
full run throwing why not try a full run every
time?
How?
Just start veeeery slow and only accelerate the last
tree step or 5 step or seven. What you need is a good
mind control and someone watch that keep you on
maintain a good body position.

I keep seeing the
perfect run of Mr MJ. He is runing fast and allways
preper to a new stride, like you need to be if you want
to throw.
Upright..relaxed.. rhytm and
frequence!

Drills (not fast times but good positions & actions):
Accelerate over 30m run from a launch start(allways avoid a
sprint start...what for??). Focus on high knees and a
good kick, feel the feet working and your upright body
position!

Crossovers for lenght: use knees and feet to broaden the
xover stride (left arm for balance).
Crossover for
frequence: put mark on the ground at equal lenght accelerate
over them! Knees and feet (left arm for
balance).

ByCC!
