Someone ask for the randomness of Matt last week so here you go. Why do mountain bikers sometimes have the best rides when they crash the most? A few years ago I crashed 12 times in two laps around the County Park in North Vernon. For those that don't know 2 laps would be just over 10 miles so I rode less than 1 mile between crashes. That was the best ride I have had in years at North Vernon. Some days you just need to be slapped down a notch or two to remember why you like the sport so much. Ok back to business. Did you know that if you live 3 miles from work and commuted 3 days a week you could save enough for lunch one day in gas money? Can't ride to work consider riding to the grocery store, bank, to pay bills, or wherever you need to go. With gas up you can save money and get a little exercise to boot.
Training
Spin classes are over it is time to go outside and enjoy the crisp spring air. Don't forget extra inner tubes because flats are worse now than later when the winter sand and debris get off the roadways. Inner tubes are still on $3.75 even with oil over $100 a barrel.
B2 Time Trial Series
32 days until the first time trial on April 27th. Anyone interested in helping drop me an email. We need 5 workers for the flat course. Job description work an intersection and either stop cars for riders or stop riders for cars depends on each instance. Total time needed would be about 1 hour if you show up 10 minutes before start time at 2p.m.
Jackson County Bicycle Club
April 1st for those of you who don't know April 1st was the date when the club was official. Which also means your dues are due on or around this time of year. Individuals are $10.00 Family's are $15.00 and Juniors (under 18) are $5.00. The funds raised here help with things like sponsoring events, buying materials, and helping with rides.
Anchor House
Anchor House needs Peanut Butter and Jelly. If you can help refill the pantry let me know. I will drop off any donations Friday night on my way home from work.
