Ian comes out dressed to the nines and opens the tournament. Dave
Taylor, Ace Steel & Claudio get introduced. Next out is Dingo. Jaysin
Strife attacks from behind and throws Dingo in to the post. Dingo is
beaten to a bloody pulp before Ace & Dave Taylor run off Jaysin Strife.

Dingo demands to be removed from the tournament. He demands a match
against Strife tonight to end this once and for all. Ian begs Dingo
not to do this with Quack already being out of the tournament. Dingo
threatens to quit if he doesn't get Strife.

Ian makes the match for tonight...Dingo vs. Jaysin Strife for the IWA
Mid-South World Heavyweight Title...Loser Leaves IWA for 1 year.

Cleaning up the blood before going right into the tournament.

1. Egotistico Fantastico def. Prince Mustafa Ali.
Ego brings out his dog, Fido Fantastico, to the ring with him to
counter the presence of Joey Eastman. Joey Eastman swears that the dog
doesn't have a manager's license and can't be ringside. Both
competitors start off with a catch as catch can offense. Ali is
frustrated. A friend of Ego's takes Fido from the ringside area so
Joey Eastman doesn't do anything dastardly to him. Ego backflips over
a charging Ali and dropkicks him in the mush as he rebounds off the
ropes. Ego then takes out a leg on Ali and delivers a surfboard into a
pancake and Ali & Eastman are flustered. Ego sends Ali to the floor
and then goes for a tope. Ali from the floor delivers a dropkick that
knocks Ego back into the ring and Ali has the momentum. Ali sends Ego
to the floor and Eastman whips Ego with his pink sequin hat and then
runs like a girl to get away. Ali with a gourdbuster into a gutbuster
across his knees. Ali goes for a somersault plancha to the floor but
Ego catches him and suplexes him into the chairs. Stiff exchange of
roundhouse bodyshot kicks. Ego then with a spinning sunset bomb for a
two count. Ego with a fireman's carry running Ali into the turnbuckles
into a DVD. The ref is with Ali as Ego goes up top. Eastman to the
ring apron and throws his purple headdress over Ego's head. Ego can't
see and that allows Ali to go up top and hit a crushing back senton as
Ego was draped on the top ropes. Ali follows with the inverted 450
Weapons of Mass Destruction but Ego kicks out at 2. Eastman distracts
the ref while Ali sets up a chair. Ego blocks him and knocks Joey to
the floor. He drops Ali and then hits the springboard moonsault for
the pinfall. Ego tries to shake Ali's hand as the crowd chants for Ali
in a show of respect. Ali flips him the bird and walks out. Ego & Fido
then retreat to the dressing room victoriously.

2. Dave Taylor def Tracey Smothers.

Grecko Roman knuckle lock. Taylor has Tracey in a Sleeper. Tracey
reverses into an armbar and a pin. Counter by Taylor into a stand off.

reversed into a pin. Stand off. They lock up again. Right hand by
Smothers. He's stopping away at Taylor. Choke on the ropes. Into the
corner with more rights. Another choke. Taylor fights back with stiff
rights until he is knocked down. Right hands in the corner. Taylr

gets caught up top by Scorpio and receives a powerbomb from the top
for the win. Show of respect by both men. Scorpio tells Fish that this
wasn't his year and he'll have to wait until next year.

Ian then comes to the ring to announce that next's week's 12th
Anniversary Show will be our last show at the Hartman Rec Center. We
have found a building to run weekly by the Chicagoland Speedway in
Joliet and to have our wrestling school in. Shows will be run
weekly...three weeks of smaller scale shows and then the fourth week
will be a big show. Ian talks more about his moving to the Chicagoland
area and building up the younger talent.

4. Sara Del Rey def. Trik Davis.
Trik just got booed out of the building. Loud "Sara's going to kill
you" chants. "Die Trik Die" chants from the other half of the crowd
that doesn't want to chant "Sara's going to kill you." Sara is
thoroughly outwrestling Trik in the early going. Trik is upset and
Sara is blowing him kisses of death. Trik backs Sara in to the corner
and slaps her face. Sara then proceeds to kick his ass. Trik goes to
the floor to try to run away but just like in all the horror movies,
Trik trips and falls and the ass whipping continues. Standing ovation
from the crowd as Sara beats Trik's ass on the floor. Trik blocks an
attempted suplex from the apron in to the ring and he takes control on
Sara. Chris Hero has joined Mike Z on commentary and he is not a fan
of Trik Davis either. Trik is full of underhanded tactics to keep
control on Sara. He wraps his legs around her head and then spins over
and repeatedly rams her hand into the canvas while it is between his
legs. Sara fights back with a somersault kick to the face. Sara with
about 4 running Yakuza kicks to Trik's chest. Sara with a German
Suplex with a bridge but only two. Sara goes for a backslide and Trik
rolls out of it. He delivers a vicious superkick while Sara is on her
knees. He then taunts Hero by locking in a Hangman's Clutch. Trik lets
go of the Clutch to taunt some more. Sara quickly rolls him up for the
pinfall. Trik confronts Hero at the announce table but wisely walks away.

5. Drake Younger def. Too Tuff Tony.
With Mike Quackenbush having to withdraw from this tournament, Drake
Younger has taken over as the sentimental favorite with the crowd
based on the reaction to his entrance. Tony & Drake exchange arm
ringers and the crowd gives them "hey"s and "oh"s. Hammerlocks
exchanged. These two are going hold for hold so far. Test of strength.
Tony with the leverage but Drake with a powerful neck bridge. Tony
puts the boots to Drake and then goes after the left leg of Drake.
Looks like Tony wants to outwrestle Drake and he is beginning to do so
by taking out a wheel. Drop toe hold followed by an anklelock. Drake
almost makes the ropes but Tony drags him back to the middle of the
ring. Drake finally makes it to the ropes but the damage has been
done. Tony follows with a dragonscrew legwhip. Tony with an STF but
Drake struggles his way to the ropes. Crowd doesn't know how to react
to Tony outwrestling Drake. Drake runs at Tony but Tony does a rolling
single leg takedown and rolls Drake's leg back up into another
submission hold. Drake uses all his strength to suplex Tony & then
apply a double underhook chicken wing. Tony fights out and hits a
backwards somersault kick to the face to take Drake back down. Drake
fights back and goes for Drakes Landing but Tony counters by inverted
piledriving Drake straight down to the canvas. Tony is having all the
answers for everything that Drake tries at least for the first 10
minutes of the match so far. Tony then crotches Drake in the middle of
the ropes and goes up top...balance walks down the ropes and hits a
rana on Drake off the top ropes. Cradle belly to back suplex by Tony
but only two. Tony goes for his finisher but Drake flips out and goes
for the Drake's Landing. Tony flips out but Drake quickly rolls him up
with a small package and gets the three count. Loud chants of "Tony"
as a sign of appreciation by the crowd. Drake definitely would have
lost on points but this isn't amateur wrestling so the small package
advances Drake to the second round.

6. Cassandro def. Chuck Taylor Both Jim and I wanted to watch this
match so no details. But I will say that this match is a must see.

7. Sami Callihan def. Chris Hero

Some very nasty stiff shots exchanged in the opening minute. Sami has
a headlock applied to Hero. STIFF forearm in the corner by Hero. Sami
fires back with a Nothern Lights suplex for 2. Sami on the apron.
Another STIFF forearm by Hero. Hero stomping the daylights out of Sami
screaming that he is Chris Hero and he is TPI. Back inside with a 2
count. Hero stomps on the hand. Stiff kick to the ribs. Hard chops and
a 2 count for Hero. Cravate by Hero. Sami counters and Hero another
STIFF forearm to the side of Sami's head. Kicks and a spinning elbow
drop give Hero a 2 Count. Hero locks the arms of Sami in his legs in a
submission. Forerms in the corner. Irish whips by Hero into the
corner. Hero pulls him out but gets a side suplex. Stiff shots by
Callihan. Callihan gets a 2 count. More shots. Hero reverses a
powerbomb and hits one of his own for a near fall. Hero with more
shots until Sami hits another side suplex. 1 count on Hero. 2 stiff
forearms and a 2 count for Hero. 2 near falls and a clothesline by
Sami. Sami rolls Hero out of the corner for 3! Sami Callihan is
victorious!

Trik Davis comes out and compares Sami Callihan and Mike Quackenbush
by saying that they both HAve beaten Hero in the first round of TPI.
Hero reminds Trik who brought him in to this business. Trik slaps Hero
not once, but twice and on the third slap they start brawling and have
to be seperated. Hero goes up to Ian demanding a match with Trik
tomorrow. Ian asks Trik if he has the balls to face Hero. Trik says no
and Ian tells Trik that he can go to Berwyn and continue sucking the
man with no name dick. Trik then decides to man up accept Hero' s
challenge. So tomorrow it's Trik Davis vs Chris Hero Falls Count Anywhere.

Ian is out saying he had things fall through so he brought in some
guys to help things.

NECRO BUTCHER IS HERE!!!!

EDDIE KINGSTON IS HERE!!!!

Both men are brawling around the ring.

knee drop for 2. Elgin hits a back suplex and immediately hits the
Ground and Pound for the win.

Claudio is overpowering Jimmy with his brute strength and size
advantage. Claudio is also staying one move ahead of Jimmyy with the
wrestling. Claudio goes for the Ricola Bomb but Jimmy counters and
turns it into a chokeout attempt. Brawling to the floor and Jimmy has
the upper hand. Jimmy puts Claudio in a chair on the floor and goes
back into the ring and delivers a running tope through the ropes onto
Claudio crushing the metal chair. Jimmy trying to recover from the
opening moments of the match while applying a body scissors on
Claudio. Claudio powers out and wraps Jimmy up like a pretzel and
spins him around and faceplants him into the canvas. GIANT SWING with
25 REVOLUTIONS and the crowd goes nuts. Jimmy goes for Contra Code but
Claudio blocks and delivers a running European Uppercut. Few more
Europeans and Jacobs is down in the corner. Jimmy goes for Contra Code
again...Claudio catches him midstream but Jimmy turns it into the
front facelock chokeout again. Jimmy with the back centon off the top
but only two. Third try for Contra Code but Claudio German suplexes
him. 5 minutes remain in the time limit. 4th time is the charm for
Jimmy on the Contra Code bu Claudio kicks out. Jimmy goes for a spear
but Claudio catches him and goes for the Ricola Bomb but Jimmy turns
it into the front facelock choke again. Claudio overpowers him and
launches Jimmy into the air and drills him with a European Uppercut on
the way down for the pin.

13. Dingo def. Jaysin Strife to retain the IWA World Title - Loser
Leaves IWA for 1 Year

Dingo is running Strife into every turnbuckle just circling the ring.
These two are putting it all on the line. Title and their job security
in IWA. They have taken it to the floor and Dingo just dropped the
challenger with something that caused a huge thud on the floor. Strife
slams Dingo on the floor. The cut on Dingo has been reopened and he is
bleeding profusely. They are brawling by the stage. I just got covered
in someone's drink as Dingo smashed it in Strife's face. Dingo takes
the bottom rope off the ring. He is fish hooking Jaysin Strife with
the hook from the turnbuckle on the removed bottom rope. Strife is a
bloody mess. These two are trying to destroy each other. I don't know
if either man will be the same after this. Strife is very loudly
calling Dingo a pussy as he repeatedly rams a chair down onto the
fallen champion. Dingo goes for a top rope moonsault while holding a
chair but Strife fights him down off the ropes. Dingo is tied in the
Tree of Woe and Strife is using the chair to inflict extra punishment.
Dingo retaliates and gets extra fire and delivers headbutts followed
by a Fisherman's Plex. Dingo goes for a top rope Dragon Suplex to the
floor but Strife blocks and throws Dingo the the canvas. Double foot
stomp but only two. Dingo fights for and eventually gets a piledriver
but Strife kicks out at two. Second piledriver and a third and a
fourth finally onto a chair and Dingo goes for the cover and gets the
pin to retain the IWA Mid-South World Heavyweight Title. Jaysin Strife
must leave for 1 year.

Age of the Fall out first asking if there was anyone who would face
them tonight. THE SOUL TOUCHAZ come out and accept their challenge.

1. Age of the Fall def. Da Soul Touchaz
AOTF pick up the win with a Fishermans Buster. Trying to fix internet
connection issues. Sorry for the lack of details

Second Round of the 2008 TPI

2. Egotistico Fantastico def. Josh Raymond
Connection issues hopefully resolved. Match joined in progress.
Several near falls by both men. The crowd has thought the match was
over on about 3 or 4 occassions so far. Josh is going up top and lands
on Ego's knees on a twisting centon attempt. Ego with another
nearfall. Ego goes back up top and hits the double springboard
moonsault for the pinfall.

3. Drake Younger def. Michael Elgin.
The crowd is solidly behind Drake in this one. Immediately start off
exhanging forearms. "Yay" for Drake forearms. "Boo" for Elgin
forearms. Elgin with a rana out of nowhere followed by a fireman's
carry slam followed by a back twisting centon off the second but only
a two. Elgin moves out of the way of Drake charging into the corner.
Elgin then running spears the leg of Drake from behind into the
corner. Elgin is working over the leg and Drake is in trouble. Elgin
obviously watched Tony work over Drake's leg the whole match last
night and is continuing the assault. Drake keeps trying to fight back
but can't muster much offense on one leg. Elgin has Drake's legs tied
into a pretzel. Drake fights his way free but can't get to his feet.
Elgin back on the leg. Elgin goes for the butt splash onto the leg
draped across the bottom rope but Drake kicks him over the top rope
and to the floor with his right leg. Elgin tries to reenter the ring
courtesy of the top rope but Drake cuts him off and hits the largest
superplex I've seen in quite some time. Drake tries for Drake's
Landing but his leg buckles and Elgin takes over with a figure four.
Drake rolls through and gets to the ropes. Elgin goes for another
figure four but Drake with a small package...only two. Elgin takes his
head off with a lariat as they both get to their feet but only two.
Elgin misses a moonsault and Drake drills him with a fist and floors
Elgin. Drake then pounces with ground and pound and the ref stops the
match. Drake beats Elgin with the ground and pound and the crowd
explodes!!!!

4. Claudio Castagnoli def. Dave Taylor.
Claudio and Taylor going hold for hold. The crowd chants for Taylor.
Taylor is teaching Claudio a few things in these exchanges. Very
European opening few minutes. Claudio with a cravate. Taylor goes for
a bodyslam but Claudio maintains the cravate. Taylor again with a
bodyslam and Claudio still holds the cravate. Third try, Taylor goes
with sort of an armdrag like maneuver to release the cravate. Dave
Taylor obviously learned something from wrestling Tracy last night.
Claudio puts him in a front face lock. Taylor picks him up and tries
to throw him to the floor. Claudio lands on apron outside the ring and
keeps the front facelock. Claudio breaks the hold, Taylor holds the
ropes for him. Shakes his hand when Claudio enters the ring and then
lariats Claudio when he wasn't expecting it. Taylor works over
Claudio's leg to try to break down the size advantage. Claudio with a
series of European Uppercut and then catches Dave Taylor off guard
with a backslide for the pinfall. Everyone in the crowd chants "Please
come back" to Dave Taylor and follow with a "Thank You Taylor" chant.

5. Sara Del Rey def. Cassandro
Randy and I were watching this one so no play by play. Awesome match.
Cassandro spears the ringpost full speed and Sara slaps him into a
cross arm breaker for a submission victory. "Lucha Libre", "Please
Come Back" chants after the match.

6. 2 Cold Scorpio def. "Sexy" Ace Steel.
Feeling out process between the vets. They tumble to the floor. Looks
like they are trash talking and then agree to get back in the ring.
Amateur wrestling breaks out. Ace with a ride but Scorpio escapes.
Scorpio with a double leg takedown. Anything you can do, I can do
better exchange back and forth on variations of arm drags. Ace gets
advantage and is working over Scorpio. Beautiful baseball slide
dropkick to the face on the fallen Scorpio. Ace starting to show a
devious side. Foot across the throat and then he slams Scorpio throat
first on the edge of the ring. Ace is working over the back. Elbow
drop off the second. Knee drops. Ace uses all of the five count before
releasing submission hold when Scorpio reaches the ropes. Scorpio
regains control. Somersault legdrop. Elbow smash off the second rope.

but only two. Scorpio back up top but Ace crotches him. Ace tries
headbutts but does more damage to himself than Scorpio but still lands
a rana off the ropes but only a two. Ace with a belly to back but only
two. Scorpio flips out of a powerbomb and hits one of his own but only
two. Scorpio goes for a Ricola bomb but Ace counters with a sunset
bomb but only two. Scorpio gets pissed and starts drilling Ace with
knee lifts. He then grapevines Ace's arm and rolls forward into a
pinning combo and gets the victory. Crowd asks Ace to come back. Ace
calls Scorpio back out and says if it wasn't a tournament and lots
still to come tonight he would ask for five more minutes. Scorpio
responds with "wait till next year kid." Ace leaves to "thank you Ace"
chants and high fives all around.

7. Sami Callihan def. Eddie Kingston.
My typing couldn't do justice to the way these two beat the hell out
of each other so I won't even try. Sami Callihan with the upset
victory following a hellacious lariat after nearly choking out
Kingston moments before.

Time to set up the cage. Short break and we'll be right back. Loud
chants for Eddie and the crowd explodes as they shake hands in a show
of respect. Sami needs help to the back so he might be in trouble in
the semis.

Ian announces the semis as:

Ego vs. Drake
Claudio vs. Sara Del Rey
Sami vs. 2 Cold Scorpio

8. Jason Hades def. Jayson Quick to retain the IWA Mid-South World
Light Heavyweight Title in an I Quit Steel Cage match...Jayson Quick
loses the right to use the name Jayson.

I didn't get to see the match.

2008 TPI Semifinals

9. Drake Younger def. Egotistico Fantastico
Ego doesn't even let Drake get into the ring before doing a HIGH
FLYING plancha dive to the floor while still wearing his Mexican
blanket poncho. Ego immediately rolls Drake in for a pin but only two.
Drake is still hobbled by the work on his leg by 2 Tuff Tony & Michael
Elgin in the tournament so far. Back to the floor and Drake is laying
the leather on Ego with chops. Ego jumps onto Drake but Drake catches
him and launches Ego into the ringpost. Lets Go Ego...Lets Go Drake
from the crowd. Drake drags Ego over by the stage and they are sitting
in chairs doing a bar fight. "Drake" and "Ego" from the crowd on every
punch. Then headbutts and the crowd can't keep up with the headbutts
on their chants it is going so fast and furious. Action finally gets
into the ring. Drake misses a frog splash. Ego knows about Drake's leg
injury and goes after it. Drake is in for an uphill fight with this
bad leg but to his credit he isn't backing down. Lariat by Drake gives
both a chance to catch their breath. Drake goes for a landing but Ego
reverses into an air raid crash. Double springboard moonsault that
he's won twice with this weekend but Drake kicks out! Ego goes for a
Drake's Landing out of spite but Drake blocks it and hits an inverted
brainbuster that brings the crowd to its feet at Drake advances to the
finals.

To kill the rumors...Randy is alive and well and the cage is as well.

10. Claudio Castagnoli def. Sara Del Rey.
Sara starts with kicks to the body but Claudio drops her with an
European uppercut. Claudio misses a shoulderblock to the corner and

own right to the jaw. Sara blocks an attempted face plant and boots
Claudio right in the face and applies a cross arm breaker. Somersault
kick to the face and a couple more big kicks by Sara but only a 2 1/2
count. Sara goes for a tigerdriver but Claudio backdrops her and has
her for a Giant Swing. 15 revolutions later Sara is dizzy and on the
mat but she rolls up Claudio in a small package and gets a 2 15/16ths
count. Crowd chants "that was three." Sara counters a Ricola Bomb back
into a cross arm breaker. Claudio muscles her up and tries to
powerbomb her one armed but Sara holds on to the cross arm breaker.
EVERYONE is chanting "tap tap tap" but Claudio gets to the ropes.
Runnng Yakuza kicks to Claudio but on the third one Sara runs into a
running big boot and then a Ricola Bomb for the pinfall. Claudio
advances to the finals and everyone is on their feet applauding and
chanting "that was awesome." Very loud "Thank You Sara" chant and she
was just an eyelash away from making it to the finals of the TPI.

11. Sami Callihan def. 2 Cold Scorpio
Sami still trying to shake the cobwebs from the war with Kingston.
Trying to loosen up his neck and shoulder. Sami is very weary of
Scorpio and still licking his wounds from the Kingston match after a
few tie ups. Scorpio starts laying in the stiffness and drops Sami
with a brutal forearm shiver. Sami is on wobbled legs and Scorpio is
punishing him in the corner. Exchange of lariats which Scorpio
definitely gets the better of. Knee strikes by Scorp and Sami is down
but not out as he kicks out at 2. Sami has to climb up Scorpio pulling
himself up but Scorpio just beats him back down. Sami won't stay down
though. He keeps fighting back but Scorpio keeps hitting him harder
than before and crushes him on a beautiful frog splash off the top but
only two. Scorpio is frustrated. Sami is getting a second wind but
Scorpio is staying on him. Picture perfect moonsault by Scorpio but
again only two. Scorpio can't believe it and doesn't know what it will
take to keep Sami down. Scorpio with Harvard graduated feet and a
lackadaisical cover but only two and Sami is getting a third wind.
Sami blocks several punches and ducks a couple of kicks and delivers a
massive Saito plex and another for a pair of twos. He then catches
Scorpio with a killer lariat that double flips Scorpio and gets the
pin. There is just no quit in Sami Callihan. Both men are still down
in the ring but Sami and Scorpio finally make it to their feet and a
show of mutual respect and Scorpio raises Sami's arm in victory.

12. Dingo, Ricochet, and Bobby Fish def. Too Tuff Tony, Prince Ali,
and Ares.
Joey Eastman offers to trade Bobby Fish and a box of minute rice for 2
Tuff Tony in this match. He then offers Tony something in a plastic
baggie and Tony puts it in his pocket and the trade is made. If Dingo
is pinned in this match, he loses the IWA World Heavyweight Title to
whomever pins him. Trying to iron out some internet connection
problems before the pinfalls count anywhere match and the TPI finals.
Tony in now with Ricochet. Tony hits a second rope moonsault for 2. He
hits the Too Tuff Flip while Eastman is holding Ricochet. Joey running
away from Fish whole stole his hat and coat. Crowd chanting Bobby
Eastman. Bobby Fish just stole Joey Eastman's pants! Double DDT by
Ricochet on Tony and Ares. Bobby Eastman in the ring clearing house.
Bobby accidently hit Dingo. Everyone receives nutshots ala 2006. Ali

Ian announced Vito vs Sal Thomaselli in a Chicago Street Fight next
weekend as well has Dingo vs Drake Younger for the title.

13. Trik Davis def. Chris Hero - Pinfalls Count Anywhere
Randy has left to be security. I'm back several minutes in to the
match. They have brawled all over every square inch of the building.
Hero just nailed a Blockbuster off the stage to the floor onto a pile
of chairs. The TPI trophy was almost killed before the finals. The
chairs in the crowd are thrown about like a tornado went thru the
Hartman Rec Center. Hero with a sitout powerbomb in the ring after
saying "Die Trik Die" but only gets a two. A right left forearm combo
by Hero only gets two. Trik gets gourdbusted across two open chairs.
Hero then slaps on a Boston Crab as Trik is laid across the two
chairs. Two roaring forearms by Hero and a kick to the face by Trik
and both men are down. Trik catches Hero into the Hangman's Clutch!
Hero returns the favor. Trik bites his thumb to break the hold.
Headbutts sound like two trucks colliding. Hero picks up a chair but
Trik dropkicks the chair into Hero's crotch. He then delivers a punt
the family jewels. Trik then hits a perfect driver for the pin.

2008 Ted Petty Invitational Finals

No play by play writeup on this one. We are going to watch this one
with great anticipation.

Sami eliminated with a Drakes Landing. Claudio vs. Drake for the TPI
championship.

Drake wins with the Drake's Landing. Unbelievable finals. The building
