IWA Newsletter: Vote for TPI Early Years DVD; 2008 TPI days away!!!!   Message List

IWA Mid-South in conjunction with Smart Mark Video is proud to
announce the plans to put together a tremendous compilation DVD of the
early years of the Ted Petty Invitational tournament. This DVD will
cover the first 3 years of the TPI...2002 - 2004.

The best part about this DVD, even better than the fantastic wrestling
on the DVD, is the fact that we are going to let our fans choose which
matches will be on the compilation.

Here are the rules for voting on the matches:

1. You vote for 5 matches

2. You have to choose at least 1 match from each year. So out of your
5 matches, at least 1 has to be from 2002, 1 from 2003 and 1 from 2004
and then the other two can be from whichever year's tournament you want.

3. You can vote for any match that was on the shows. It doesn't have
to be a match from the tournament itself. So you can pick loser
bracket matches, title matches, etc that were held on the shows.

4. You can ONLY VOTE once a week. You can stuff the ballot box to help
your choices win (a lot of you are from Chicago after all ;-) ) but
you can only do it once a week.

5. The voting will end at midnight on Sunday, November 2nd. The goal
is to have this DVD put together in time for a Christmas release.
Depending on the length of the matches chosen, we hope to have around
12 matches on this DVD.

As an added bonus for this DVD, we will also add some extra to this
DVD. We will have "Flashback Memories" in which SMV will insert
interviews with the participants in the match talking about their
memories of the match.

Here are the lineups for those 3 shows to refresh everyone's memories.

Here is a special message from Ian Rotten about this years TPI:

This Friday and Saturday night, September 26 and 27, it is indeed my
great pleasure to put on the 7th addition of the Ted Petty
Invitational. This tournament over the past 7 years has created some
of the most memorable moments in independent wrestling history, and
this year will be no different.

As we honor a man who gave his heart and soul, blood, sweat and tears,
to this industry, we plan to feature everything he was about. Pure
technical wrestling, hard hitting fights, high flying maneuvers,
incredible brawls; all of which made up the versatility of the man
that was Ted Petty. I feel this year's tournament is the most diverse
TPI in the history of this prestigious tournament. In which I
guarantee an adrenaline rush, heart pumping, emotional roller coaster
ride with something for every wrestling fan.

Everybody knows what a HUGE Cowboys fan I am. In the immortal words of
the great Terrell Owens "Getcha' popcorn ready, because it's gonna be
one hell of a show!"

Oh, and by the way, did I mention that we now have a new popcorn
machine? ;)

See you all next Friday night in Joliet!
