IWA Mid-South News for 04.30.05
--by Stacy McMackin, Moderator--

IWA Mid-South Wrestling, in association with NWA Midwest, returned to the
National Guard Armory in Valparaiso, IN on Friday night, 4/29. Here's what went
down...

The show opened with all of the IWA-MS locker room surrounding the ring for a
ten bell salute to CHRIS CANDIDO. With IAN ROTTEN overseas on a European
tour, AXL ROTTEN remembered Chris on the mic during the segment. A music video
tribute to Chris was shown for the fans in attendance. The video will appear on
the home video release of the event, and will be uploaded as a WMV file to the
IWA-MS web site later this weekend for fans to view.

1. JOSH ABERCROMBIE & "The Product" MAREK BRAVE def. LOTUS & CRAZY J in the
opening contest after Abercrombie hit the Phoenix Splash.

2. MICKIE KNUCKLES def. ODB with a cross armed fisherman buster. After the
match, JIM FANNIN once again attempted to win over Mickie, and sang for her on
the microphone. As he got down on one knee to presumably propose, Mickie nailed
Fannin in the face with a kick, and warned him to leave her alone from this
point forward.

3. "The Human Rulebook" CHANDLER McCLURE def. CJ OTIS & MIKE WALLACE in a
three-way contest after hitting the Touchdown on Otis and keeping the head
trapped for a submission victory.

4. AXL ROTTEN & TRIK DAVIS def. "Underwear Model" ERIC PRIEST & "Male
Cheerleader" BRYCE BENJAMIN in a tag team match when Davis pinned Benjamin.

5. BJ WHITMER def. "Outlaw" BILLY GUNN after the referee was knocked down and
ERIC PRIEST interfered, knocking Gunn out with his NWA Midwest Tag Team Title
belt. Whitmer was accompanied to the ring for the evening by JADE CHUNG, in
place of the injured Fannin.

6. DANNY DANIELS def. TYLER BLACK following a piledriver in a very
competitive match, which saw Tyler really win over the IWA-MS fans with his
performance.
After the match, Daniels informed the crowd that Black is actually a trainee
of his, and called Black a future star in pro wrestling to keep your eye on.

7. JIMMY JACOBS def. JAMES GIBSON to retain the IWA World Heavyweight Title.
Gibson pinned Jacobs moments earlier, but Jacobs had his foot on the bottom
rope, out of sight of the referee, who counted to three. Gibson realized Jacobs
had his foot on the rope at two, and decided against winning the title when he
knew he didn't have Jacobs pinned. The match was restarted, and Jacobs scored
the pinfall on Gibson, who wound up getting his foot on the rope at two as
well. The referee didn't see it, and Jacobs quickly grabbed the belt and
retreated to the locker room with a tainted victory.

8. "The New Age Punisher" B-BOY def. SAL THOMASELLI in a Tables, Ladders, and
Chairs match after a Shining Wizard while holding a steel chair in front of
his knee.

NOTES: The event was filmed with two cameras by Smart Mark Video for home
video release, with commentary by Dave Prazak, Trik Davis, Jim Fannin, BJ
Whitmer, and Josh Abercrombie... The TLC tag team main event was turned into a
singles match as Brandon Thomaselli wound up getting out of the MAW show in
Milwaukee later than expected, and hit traffic on the way to Valparaiso (he was
going
to attempt a double shot)... An announcement was made to the live crowd
concerning the Lincoln Center no longer renting their facility to IWA-MS due to
fans
drinking alcohol in the parking lot during shows (see below the Herrin show
info in this newsletter for more of an explanation about the situation). Fans
are advised that we will not tolerate the presence of alcohol in the vicinity
of any venue in which we hold live events from this point forward, and any fans
caught with alcohol at one of our events will be permanently banned from
attending our shows. We will be announcing a new location, and possibly new
date,
for the "No Blood, No Guts, No Glory 2005" event shortly on the IWA-MS web
site... We're back in Valparaiso on 5/27.

Tonight, Saturday, 4/30, IWA-MS returns to the Civic Center (101 S. 16th
Street) in Herrin, IL. Bell time is 7:30pm. Tickets will be available at the
door.
The venue is located just outside of Carbondale, and roughly 50 miles out of
Cape Girardeau, MO.

NO MORE LINCOLN CENTER; LIQUOR POLICY TO BE ENFORCED
--------------------------------------------------

An announcement was made to the IWA-MS fans at the end of intermission on
Friday night in Valparaiso concerning the Lincoln Center in Highland, IN making
the decision to no longer host IWA-MS live events.

We attempted to convince Lincoln Center management to allow us to run one
last show at the building on 5/28 and they refused. Their decision was due to
fans drinking alcohol in the parking lot during the shows. Alcohol containers
were found in the parking lot the day after the last show... and parents bring
their children to the facility for activities on Sundays. Management of the
building told us that the "atmosphere" we bring with us is not something they
wish
to deal with any longer.

We will, from this point forward, be enforcing a strict policy concerning
alcohol that any fans bring into the vicinity of any of the venues in which we
run. It will NOT be tolerated, and if any fans are caught with alcohol in the
future at any IWA-MS events, those fans will be permanently banned from
attending our events. We cannot, and will not tolerate it. It has already cost
us our
most financially successful venue. If you are a fan of our product, respect
the guidelines we and the venues we promote our shows at have set... and wait
until after the show if you want to drink.

We are set to return to Valparaiso on Friday, 5/27. The "No Blood, No Guts,
No Glory 2005" event featuring the double ring, double cage War Games match was
scheduled to take place at the Lincoln Center on 5/28. We've contacted all of
the venues which we currently promote shows at within the general
Highland/Chicago area, and none of them have 5/28 available. We are exploring
other opt
ions, and several locations within a 20 or so mile radius of Highland, to try to
hold the show on the same date, just at a new location. If we are unable to
confirm a new location for 5/28, the alternate date we're looking at is the
originally scheduled June Highland date, 6/18. We've booked the Hammond Armory
for that date, regardless. As soon as it is determined when and where NBNGNG '05
will take place, an announcement will be made on the web site. Fans who have
tickets to the show that wind up unable to attend either at the new location
or on a potentially rescheduled date will be able to obtain refunds.

We thank the fans for their patience, and we will keep everyone informed
about the NBNGNG '05 event as soon as arrangements are made with a new venue.
