IWA Mid-South News for 03.16.03

IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling returned to the IWA Arena in Clarksville, IN
this past Friday night, 3/14. Here's what went down... (courtesy of

Show started with Jim Fannin giving the opening announcments but he was
interrpupted by Brent Blades. Brent came out to talk about his match with
Shark Boy, demanding Shark Boy come out cause Brent knew he would beat him.
He said it wouldn't take any effort at all. He said he knew Shark Boy has
been training all week while Brent has been hanging out with all the
"chicks". Brent went on to ask Fannin "Have you ever seen a face as pretty as
mine", and he brought up who he has beat-- Mean Mitch Page, Chris Hero, and
even main evented in IWA. Unfortunately Brent thought the match was this
show, when it is in fact next week. So Jim told Brent he better be ready next
week.

1) Nate Webb retained the IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight Title over Jimmy
Jacobs with a wheelbarrow flapjack off the top

2) Ryan Boz with Brad Bradley and Eryn over Simon Sezz with a Piledriver.
Then when the match was over, Boz and Bradley hit a double spike piledriver
on Sezz and laid him out.

3) Steve Stone beat Brad Bradley after a mis-communication with Boz and
Bradley. Stone worked Bradley's leg all match and posted Brad then was going
to slam his leg into the post when Boz ran out with a chair, aiming for Stone
but Stone moved and caused him to hit Bradley's leg, Stone hit Boz then went
up top and hit the Stone Sault for the win.

4) Todd Morton beat Corp. Robinson when Corp had Todd hooked for the Boot
Camp, Brent Blades runs out and Corp goes to grab Brent, he gets him in the
boot camp but Todd gives him a low blow and hits him with the chain. Brent
then counts the fast 3 count.

5) Mitch Ryder beat Mark Wolf. Mark had Mitch in the figure 4 around the ring
post, but Mitch punched the ref, Mickie. This brought out Brent who kept
telling Mitch "Hang on Mitch, you can do it, don't say it, hang on" Mark
yelled out "Say I quit bitch" yelling at Mitch, then Mitch said "I quit"
Brent rang the bell. Everyone thought Mark had won, yet Brent said Mitch won
cause Mark said it first. Then Mickie got up in the ring and said Mark won
becuase Mitch said it. Brent then got mad and said "Listen, I've been reffing
for 2 1/2 years; I know what I am doing. Mark said it, now get your ass to
the back, I am the senior ref here." Mickie still was aruging, as Brent said
"Just go to the back you cunt!" right after that Mickie gave Brent a big
spear. Right at that time Todd Morton hit the ring and started laying the
boots to both Mark and Mickie until Hero made the save.

6) Chris Hero retained the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Title over Danny
Daniels. Daniels cut a promo on Hero saying he didn't give a shit about him
going to Germany and Europe.The match was back and forth. Hero tried the
Hero's Welcome numerous times but Daniels reversed it and went for the
tombstone but Hero also reversed that. Daniels went for a Hero's Welcome and
then Hero went for the Tombstone but both reversed it. Hero finally hit the
Hero's Welcome to get the pin.

7) Mad Man Pondo beat JC Bailey with a piledriver off the top rope on to a
Stop sign with light tubes set up on two chairs.

IWA returns to the IWA Arena at 1390 Woerner Ave. in Clarksville, IN this
coming Friday night, 3/21. Tickets are $10 and $8 and will be available at
the door. Keep checking the IWA Message Board
(http://board.iwamidsouthwrestling.com) and calling the IWA Hotline at
502-569-1701 for up to the minute card information.

The 3/28 IWA event is "Quote The Raven" and will feature Raven taking on
Chris Hero. Tickets for that event will be $25, $20, and $15, or if you
purchase them in advance, they are $20, $15, and $10.

For those planning well in advance, "April Bloodshowers" will take place on
Friday night, April 18th, and will feature Jonny Storm's return to the IWA as
he takes on Jerry Lynn.


"WHEN HERO MET PUNK" - THE VIDEOTAPE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The videotape of the much talked about Chris Hero vs. CM Punk 2 out of 3
falls matchup that went over 92 minutes in length from 2/7 is currently
available via Smart Mark Video. The tape is a two camera shoot filmed by SMV,
with commentary by Dave Prazak, Jim Fannin, and CM Punk (he did color
commentary for the first half of the show, and then wrestled for 92 mintues).

Coming from Louisville: Take I-65 North to Exit 0. Go straight to the 2nd
stop sign (past McDonalds and Waffle House) and turn left onto 7th Street. Go
through the 1st stop sign and turn right into Water Tower Square (400
Missouri Street). Go straight all the way to the back of the parking lot to
find the IWA building.

Coming from Indianapolis: Take I-65 South to Exit 0. Go straight at the stop
sign by KOBE. As soon as you go under the bridge, turn right on Missouri
Street. Then turn left into the Water Tower Square at 400 Missouri Street. Go
straight all the way to the back of the parking lot to find the IWA building.
