FEBRUARY 15th SHOW RECAP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IWA returned to Clarksville, IN with another live event on Saturday night,
February 15th. Here's what went down...
The show started with a 10 Bell salute for Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig.
Jim Fannin then went on to announce several no shows due to the ice storm and
thus changes to the card. This brought out Danny Daniels and Michael Todd
Stratton. Fannin then made them wrestle each other since they didn't have
opponents and Steve Stone to wrestle Adam Gooch in what was called by
Stratton a conspiracy against the heel locker room. Danny Daniels grabbed Jim
and Todd went to hit him but Fannin moved and Todd hit Daniels instead.
Confrontaion but no further punches were thrown.
Steve Stone def. Adam Gooch with the Stonesault. Gooch wore the most
ridiculous trunks ever seen during the match. Gooch was joking around and
thinking it was all fun and games but Steve Stone was all business.
Spyder Nate Webb retains the IWA Mid-South light heavyweight title by
defeating Mark Wolf. Mark got on the mic before the match and said Nate may
be there to dance and have fun but he was there to win the title and go home.
Mark had the upperhand when he clotheslined Nate causing Nate to fall into
Turtle and both of them to go to the floor. Todd Stratton came out and DDT'd
Mark and left. Brent Blades came to the ring and Nate Webb hit a moonsault to
gain the pinfall. Ringside fans let Nate know what happened and he offered
Mark a rematch whenever he wanted one and Mark told him that he didn't need
his charity.
Danny Daniels defeated Michael Todd Stratton. Todd flipped a coin and lost
the coin toss and laid down on the canvas and let Daniels pin him right after
the bell rang. Jim Fannin got on the mic and told them that there was no way
they were getting away with that. Todd and Daniels started to leave but
Fannin threatened Todd Stratton with never getting another title shot and
Daniels with losing his opportunity to wrestle Jerry Lynn next week unless
they got in the ring and wrestled a legit match. The real match then started.
Todd hit Daniels with a brainbuster and out came Mark Wolf. He hit Todd in
the back of the head with a chain allowing Daniels to get the win. Too Tough
Tony and Adam Gooch came out and roughed up Mark with Todd until Corporal
Robinson made the save. Afterwards, Mark challenged those 3 BMFers to a 6 man
tag for next Friday night.
CM Punk defeated JC Bailey with a version of the Texas Cloverleaf with JC's
arm wrapped up as well. Good back and forth match that saw JC put in a good
showing. He almost won several times by utilizing a cross arm breaker. It
made things very difficult for Punk to use his left arm throughout.
Corporal Robinson def. 2 Tuff Tony in a fans bring the weapons match. They
brawled around the building causing Gooch and Stratton to interfere
seperately but Tony could only gain two counts. Corporal hit the boot camp
but Todd pulled Lemke out of the ring at the two count. Brent Blades came out
and threw powder into the eyes of Corporal. Tony rolled him up in an inside
cradle but Lemke pulled Brent out of the ring at the 2 count. This led to a
huge argument between Todd, Gooch, Brent and Lemke. Corporal hit a second
boot camp and Mickie ran out in a ref shirt and made the three count. Corp
and Mickie left but Lemke wasn't so lucky. Tony clubbed him in the back and
threw him into the ring for Brent. Brent hit him with a DDT and then
repeatedly slapped and punched him while sitting on top of him until the
dressing room emptied running the heels to the back. Lemke got on the
microphone and told Brent Blades that Dean Baldwin was going to get his ass.
CHRIS HERO & IAN ROTTEN APPEAR FOR XPW 02.14.03
Chris Hero successfully defended the IWA World Heavyweight Title against
Salem (formerly known as "Crowbar" Devon Storm) this past Friday night in
Philadelphia, PA for XPW at Viking Hall. Also on the card, Ian Rotten made
