I recommend getting a very hard one (there is a lot of variation). If it's not marketed as dense or hard then it will probably develop ruts and be less useful...
Hey Folks, I’ve had ITBFS for 4 years now. The foam roller works, but it deflates over time. I use these small inflatable fit balls. They’re awesome....
The foam roller I have been using for several months is: http://www.power-systems.com/p-2972-premium-eva-foam-roller.aspx It's pretty hard, doesn't compress...

The good news is there are people who continue to run with ITBS. It doesn't go away, but they manage it. My chiro is able to do that while tolerating mild...
I could be wrong, but ITBS may start in the hip. Let's say your sacroiliac joints are misaligned. This could cause the hip muscles to contract, and the...
I couldn't agree more with you Ann. Ever since I had a minor hip labral tear arthroscopically repaired 2 1/2 years ago, not only has my hip never been the...
I hate it when athletes are taken out of the game, so to speak, by something as simple as a tight muscle. What I do to stretch my hip muscles when they start...
Thanks Ann. I have to be careful with the twisting and stretching right now, as I had an L6-S1 fusion (my extra transitional vertebra) on July 2nd, along with...
