RE: RE: [itbs] foam roller / ball

Nora,

I bought the Fit Ball USA Small Ball package. My package came from a sports
medical clinic in Vancouver, Canada. You might find this on ebay, not sure.
It comes with 3 inflatable balls, which have little bumps on the ball
surface. My package also came with a VHS video, which was helpful. Each
ball is a different diameter. The smallest is the most painful (4 cm
diameter I believe); the largest (8 cm diameter) is the least painful. The
ball material is some kind of hard rubber. When you roll your body weight
over the ball, the little bumps “grab” your skin and soft tissue, thus
breaking up the annoying adhesions and scar tissue that builds up from
ITBFS. The fit balls also work great to get into the crevices of your hip
joints, an area that the foam roller isn’t effective. My favourite part
about these balls is you can fit them in your suitcase easily – pain free
vacations!

Hope you find them (I should be a salesman for them),

Dave

Dave,

do you roll on the ball like on the foam roller? What size and material is
the ball? I will try to find it here in Germany, as they don't have foam
rollers here.

Nora

Hi all, I'm having IT band release surgery in 2 weeks and have a couple of questions for those of you who have had it. 1) What is the recovery period like?...

I recommend getting a very hard one (there is a lot of variation). If it's not marketed as dense or hard then it will probably develop ruts and be less useful...
