a foam roller is a thing made of styrofoam. In order to see a picture, just

If you want to know how to use it, you can search this yahoo group site, there
are several posts about it. Quickly explained: you put the roller on the ground.
You lay with your "outside" thigh (where the IT Band is) on this roller. Then
you roll on the roller from your hip to your knee and back and forth ... If your
it band is very tight, it hurts alot. When I first tried it, I could only roll
back and forth 10 times. Now I do it 50 times to loosen the it band.

Where do you live? In the US you can order a foam roller. As I live in Germany,
