I have a question what is ART sessions? I had IT Band problems on my right knee
and now it is on my left. I feel like I am going through the same thing over
again and I want to just get the surgery to get it over with, but my PT say he
thinks that he can make the pain go away with other methods. Is there anyone
else that has had it on both knees. This just really sucks to be going through
it again and the best running is right around the corner. If anyone has any
advice let me know.
Thanks

I had a terrible flare up while training for Chicago 06. I was able to do
the full marathon. I stretched, iced etc. Also had nearly weekly ART
sessions and had a cortisone injection a few days prior to the marathon. I had
no
ITB during the marathon and haven't had a flare up since.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my dilema on to run the marathon, or
not. I decided to run the half marathon, which was a compromise. I have been
doing the stretches and exercises that a number of people recommended. And I
also purchased the ITBS strap.
So a month has gone by and I can run 3-6 miles with the strap with little
pain, but make no mistake, the problem is still with me. I am hoping that if I
keep my mileage at the 10-15 miles a week, and keep stretching & strenthg
training for alwhile, I'll snap out of this.
I'd be happy to hear anyone's recommendations.
