Thanks to everyone who responded to my dilema on to run the marathon, or not. I
decided to run the half marathon, which was a compromise. I have been doing the
stretches and exercises that a number of people recommended. And I also
purchased the ITBS strap.

So a month has gone by and I can run 3-6 miles with the strap with little
pain, but make no mistake, the problem is still with me. I am hoping that if I
keep my mileage at the 10-15 miles a week, and keep stretching & strenthg
training for alwhile, I'll snap out of this.

I'd be happy to hear anyone's recommendations.
