Subject: [irishrugby] team announced

so here it is...

Ireland: Girvan Dempsey, James Topping, Geordan Murphy, Kevin Maggs, John
Kelly; David Humphreys (capt), Peter Stringer; Marcus Horan, Shane Byrne,
Reggie Corrigan, Malcolm O'Kelly, Gary Longwell, Alan Quinlan, Keith
Gleeson, Victor Costello.
(Replacements to be announced on Thursday)

Some interesting selections here... Murphy is in the centre but will it be
only for attack... I guess that his defence was not found wanting when he
played as the last line in the six nations. It might not work, but if we
discover that Murphy can have the same influence playing at 13 as he had at
15 then we'll be praising EOS as a genius and probably seeing BOD move
inside permanently....

I'm suprised to see John Kelly in the side I think he has been shown to be a
good provincial player but nothing more. Hopefully we'll see the best of
Topping in which case we'll see a lot of power and pace.

Obviously I'm glad that EOS made the right choice at 10 ;-)

Corrigan at tight head - has he played there before? And Quinlan in for
Foley - would still like to have seen Miller in at 8 to give us that extra
pace around the park...

But still I reckon we can have those Wobblies!

Cheers

Stu
