Dear Zephyr Travelers,
I have had a very busy spring and am quite amazed we are 1/3 done
with 2007. However, things are going well and I hope this Zephyr
Adventures e-newsletter finds you happy and healthy. Following is
the news!
New: Self-Guided Adventures in Italy
While we know many of you love the full-service nature of our trips,
we realize some travelers prefer more independence but still with
the help of a local expert. Enter Self-Guided Adventures. On a Self-
Guided Adventure, you choose the location (we are starting with five
trips in Tuscany & Umbria), the activity (we have biking, walking,
and driving), and the date. We then book your hotels for you, meet
you upon your arrival, give you detailed route directions, and
provide support in case of an emergency. This is not for everyone
but if you have your own travel companions and are comfortable
traveling in a foreign country without guides and a support van, you
might love it. We aren’t the first to create Self-Guided Adventures
but are the first to use GPS Navigation in our Driving Tour and the
first to provide you with a Virtual Tour Guide, a Portable Media
Player loaded with video clips of our Italian guide Giovanni. Check
it out at www.ZephyrAdventures.com by clicking on Self-Guided Tours.
Trip Descriptions
We are developing Trip Descriptions of each of our locations. These
describe a trip’s itinerary, lodging, arrival and departure
information, and more, all in a very nice looking PDF file. If you
are interested in a trip, just hit “reply” to this email and I will
send you one. They are also a great way to convince a friend to
join you on a trip.
Peru Blog
Visit www.ZephyrAdventures.blogspot.com to see my most recent post,
a review of our Peru Trekking Adventure on the Inca Trail to Machu
Picchu. To receive an email whenever the blog is updated (every
three weeks or so), sign up at

Featured Trips
Which of our trips is the best? Impossible to say. I can, however,
tell you that the following trips are three of my favorites.
If you are looking for excellent, long-distance skating our Idaho
Skating Adventure on September 10-14 and September 16-20 is as good
as it gets. This tour features one of the single best inline
skating trails in the world, the 73-mile Trail of the Coeur d’Alene.
2007 will be the last year we run the Netherlands Skating Adventure,
at least for awhile. We have been running this since 1997 and it is
time for a break as we add new skate tour locations.
Our China & Tibet Hiking Adventure from September 8-21 is one of our
premier trips, including both two days of hiking on the Great Wall
of China and a four-day trek in Tibet. The world is changing " don’t
miss Tibet before it changes too quickly!
Want the comfort of a guide and support van in Italy. Join our
September 15-21 Italy Biking Adventure. I have been to Italy three
times in the past year and still can’t get enough!
One month ago marked ten years since I quit my corporate job to
start Zephyr Adventures. I realize not everyone can quit a desk job
to travel for a living but you CAN take the time to do something
amazing this year. Italy? Tibet? Peru in 2008? If nothing like this
is in your plans and you prefer to be removed from our mailing list,
just hit “reply” and let me know. If you hope to join us, let me
know that too!
Sincerely,
Allan Wright
