I was just wondering, and if anyone would like to comment that would
be great, could anyone elaborate on Ba Gua as a Martial Art? Well I
know it is really good for development of internal power, but how is
the martial art incorporated in the training? What would be the time
frame for someone studying it to begin to learning that part (I know
there is alot of internal training to be done)? Also, ok this might
be hard to word, but I will try, how would a person who studied Ba
Gua fight (so lets say some one who studied TKD might be looking to
land a big kick, or other styles look for a lock, etc)? I know
recently I was looking at something, and it said that bodyguard of
Chinese Royalty used to know it. So I would assume that it would be a
very special fighting art if the body guards of a countries royalty
would use it.
I guess another reason I asked this questions is I saw another post
in a different group and it was saying that other martial arts, the
hard styles, were more effective martial arts compared to internal
arts (I think it went so far to say that in legend other styles
faired better). So that confused me a little since I heard that
internal martial arts were so powerful at high levels. Oh, I am still
a rookie in my martial arts study, so I dont mean to be off line here.
Thank you.
