Hi Skaters,

I recieved an e-mail from the General Manager of Green Cab here in San
Francisco. Green Cab is an environmentally responsible, democratically run
company, using alternative-fuel vehicles.

They have a space in this year's Cesar Chavez parade and thought it would be
cool to have - in addition to one of their vehicles - a group of skaters join in
as their "float" - to promote alternative modes of transportation and something
more entertaining than a cab driving by! They are very excited to have us.

The event is this Saturday, April 4. Skaters would assemble for Parade at 11:00
am at Dolores Park with the Green Cab driver. The skaters are to dress in Green
& White (the company & fleet colors). Green Cab will provide refreshments and a
place for us to rest and ride in the van during the parade route (or any big
hills!).

These are exactly the kinds of things we need to be involved with as we move
forward to include skating in the alternative transportation mix. Who wants to
skate!!!!!!! We could use both dance skaters and speed skaters. I have about 8
Team USA speed skating skinsuits. We could show the speedskaters in a paceline
with the dance skaters doing their thing to the music.
