Thank you for allowing me to join the list.
A few of you have met me but most probably have no clue who I am.
I am Bill Fuhrmann of the Minnesota Inline Skate Club. I have been at the
Great EsSkate the last few years and will be there again with a few more
Minnesotans this year.
I am not an instructor for hire. I do sometimes teach beginners for our
club or basic skills (like a grass stop) to more experianced skaters.
For anything beyond that, I refer them to a real instructor. In our area,
that would be Noelle Robichon.
The need for basic lessons was pointed out to me about 8 years ago when our
club offered free beginner lessons to anyone who showed up to our picnic.
Mike Merriman was the instructor for the event and asked me to assist him.
In order to assist him, we met an hour prior to the lesson so I could learn
his teaching plan.
My eyes were opened because I found out how little I had learned in my 5
years of skating.
My skating improved drasticly because of that lesson.
I generally use my name when I post places but occasionally use the name
funskater.
Have fun skating.
