I think you are right on with the price point being a big issue right
now. For instance, the Twister was supposed to be for those of us
who loved the old lightning TRS skate... I had them , and my foot
slipped all over the place inside them... They were nowhere near as
sturdy, and I just couldn't do what I used to do on my TRSs... I
have been around for 25 years..
I am now retired from skating due to 4 hip surgeries and a 5th one on
the horizon... to be followed by hip replacements in the next 5-10
years... maybe I will get back to skating when they are finally
replaced. I slipped on someone's icy sidewalk on a 50 degree day in
2/05.
So, what is in everyone's skate closets.... ? I've got the original
lightnings with the metal frames and Frankenstein bolts... coolblades
(aka slipperblades circa 1990), Aero 9's, core carbons, 2nd
generation cool blades, outbacks, coyotes, Lightning O5's,
macroblades, Kitalpha alpha, Quantum L-3,racerblades, Aero 90's,
Swindlers, TRS (aggressive skates) and of course, 6 pair of trusty
Lightning TRSs. Oh yeah, and the Bont Blue bottoms with a mogema
frame. Then, there were the infamous FILA prototypes that fell apart
during athens to Atlanta and caused severe nerve damage in my
foot.... there are some solomons around here too... Maybe I should
start a skate museum with what is here?!?!
