SF Skaters Swap Meet June 23   Message List

Hi Skaters,

The San Francisco Bay Area is very fortunate to have so much skating to choose
from. There's the Original Friday Night Skate. There's the Wednesday skates in
S.F., Tiburon and Palo Alto. There's the California Cup Inline Race Series and
the Napa Valley Inline Marathon and Half Marathon. There's dozens of parades,
celebrations, skate parties, Burning Man Black Rock Roller Disco and more. With
the closure of roads on Saturdays in Golden Gate Park, C.O.R.A. has helped to
opened up another fantastic opportunity to grow skating.

Healthy Saturdays has been rollin' along for three weekends with great success,
although with crappy weather. You all know what Mark Twain had to say about the
summer in San Francisco. That has not put a damper on the great times people are
having in Golden Gate Park on Saturdays. However, we need to do things that
bring out more people. We also want to turn those people into skaters.

Do you have some skates or skating equipment you want to sell or donate? Need
skates for Burning Man? Do you have a skate clinic or service you want to
promote? Do you have a fitness program you want to let people in Golden Gate
Park to know about or participate in? On Saturday, June 23, C.O.R.A. will
present "Skate Healthy Saturdays". This is an event presented by C.O.R.A. to
draw people to the closed roads in the park on Saturdays and recruit new
members. The Inline Academy Skate School will be presenting free skate lessons
for the public. We will be inviting groups to come out for the free lessons and
try to get them hooked on why we love the experience so much.

The main draw will be the S.F. Skaters Swap Meet where you will have the
opportunity to display your skating interest or sell your skating items. This
will take place on the bridge at the beginning of the Saturday road closure on
Kennedy Drive near Tea Garden Drive in Golden Gate Park.

We were trying to work out a fee plan for swap meet sellers. Each seller will
get a space about 10X10 to show their items or service. C.O.R.A. members get a
spot for $5.00. Non members $10.00. Companies and retailers? We can work
something out.

Would you like to take part in the S.F. Skaters Swap Meet? Please reply of call
D. Miles at 415-752-1967. I'm off to L.A. tonight, but I will take my laptop.
