HI All, I just got this info via the inline industry list serve, so if you are
not on that list serve, that's ok, here's another great way to get connected
with lot's of folks in the industry....check it out and get on-board before your
ship is taken over by pirates! LOL! I especially like the arcade game thing
under the "quick links" section at the top navigation bar. They even have a
google maps locator of all the skaters around the world. Hope they can make it
about skaters like the cycling simulation program in the arcade section! How
cool is that! ok, enjoy!
Penny

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to contact all of you about a new skating forum on Skater's Refuge
(www.skatersrefuge.com/forums) which other skaters can talk to
others as well as industry folks. In response to Jim's suggestion, I would be
more than happy to make people moderators of the forum for specific topics. We
have invested a large sum of money into this forum application since there is no
one in the industry that has taken any type of initiative such as this and would
hope other skater's will take advantage of what this forum has to offer since
we're making it free:

A Brief Summary of what you can do:
-Research technical questions about skates and skating.
-Plan meet and greets in your area.
-Play arcade games for free and compete with other skaters (even at your office
job, it still comes up!)
-See where other skaters are located with a customized skater's version of
Google Maps.
- Sell your old gear you used for a two months on the buy / sell section
-Plan to meet up with other skaters at major skate events like the Freedom
Skate. (Also good for finding roommates at events)
-Ask questions that vendor employees will be able to see (Bont, Labeda, Hyper,
Mogema, etc)
-Set up group buys to save money on your gear

However, this only will happen with your involvement. I know many of you are
lazy so there is an incentive to actually get yourself signed
up (which is free might I add). The person at the end of the month that makes at
least 5 posts that is related to skating will win a FREE SET
OF CERAMIC BEARINGS from Skater's Refuge (worth $120) through a random raffle of
people who have followed the rules so feel free to spread the word. Please see
the general discussion board for more details. If you aren't familiar with
ceramic bearings, they are the Ferrari of bearings
in the skating market. Depending on how much interest we generate, we may also
throw in other products as well and extend the contest.

If you are a vendor or would like to advertise your services, you're more than
welcomed to do so.

Skate Safe!

Thanks, Penny, for helping publicize this. Dave's message was in response to a separate project: We (some of us) have discussed the need for an information...
