Doug-
I haven't conducted any hard research, but I do know that as a result
of lessons, many of my students who would not be wearing protective
gear are wearing it. I have seen this especially when they are going
out on social skates, where they are choosing to wear protective gear,
when they initially looked down on it. I'm interested in hearing the
results of your study. Keep me informed.

Subject: [inline-instruction] need help with thesis research
To all instructors and researchers,
I'm conducting a study for my thesis comparing the
usage of protective gear with relation to have taken
lessons. I'm looking to see if those who have taken
lessons are more apt to wear their protective gear
when skating outside of lesssons than those who never
taken a lesson before. The second part of the study
will look at age and compare what age group are more
apt to wear protective gear.
I was wondering if anyone could help me any way
possible. I'm looking for people that might have
conducted research on in-line skating and protective
gear, people who know of contacts that I could get in
touch with to help me, and any instructors or schools
that would be willing to help me by having their
cilents and students take my survey.
From one instructor to another, I think that this
reserach will be good to have to increase
participation in our sport. Thanks.
Roll on!
