Who has autocrossed a stock Fiero and what did you think of it? I'm looking at a stock 1985 GT with the 2.8 engine and 4 speed. I believe it would run in SPC....

Don, Yes, the Fiero runs in ES. It is not quite fast enough to win a national championship with it, but when in good shape, it is certainly good enough to run...

My understanding about the fire issue is that small oil leaks from the valve covers tended to accumulate around a wiring harness between the vc and the header....

I was told that the fires were pretty much only an 84 problem from a bad batch of connecting rods that would go out through the side of the block on the 2.5 ...

The Audi R10 had a 1:49.181 in quals which was a record at RA for LMP1. Champ Cars make it around there quicker, but it would be interesting to see what an F1...

... In my opinion, which is worth little, no. Road America certainly has its challenges, but I think Mid Ohio is a better test of car set up and driver skill....

The 88 Formula is the model to have only because it could be ordered without all of the mandatory luxury options on the GT model--about a 150 pound difference....
