Yes it was a great ride. I was worried about the weather but after driving a
hour + the rain all but stopped. We had light rain all morning and sun after
lunch. Traction was very good and it was much cooler than last.

I too was concerned about the weather as I heard in Indiana there were spots that got 5" of rain Saturday night.  The  Zanesville Club (ZTR) is having their DS on July 17, and they have the "Caveman Challenge", an optional part with about 4 short  sections/obstacles that if completed you get the "Caveman Tee Shirt"...  Kind of a "MinI Ertzberg"..  The ZTR club is putting on the NEPG National Enduro in August but their DS is in a totally different area.. thats' nice to have that much land available.

Hey gang! I'd be interested in riding some enduros, but it's only been +30 years since my last one!

I have a 1993 Honda XR250L (street legal, with knobbies) and was wondering where to read the rules, what are the rules, classes, locations, times, and can we make this on one gas stop (2 gallon tank).

Any hints, tips, tricks are appreciated.....I have been doing some vintage MX racing but would like to do an enduro or two, just for old memories!

Thanks!.....chuck in Indy

http://www.aces-races.com/    This web page has the rules/info/schedule under "enduro 101". Glad you are interested in racing enduros..I too took a slight break of 30+ years.  This series in Ohio is run under the old rules as in the past, unlike the NEPG "Nationals". Their next event is August 14, called the "Little Burr".. The Zanesville club is hosting a National Enduro August 28. entries are still available, I am entered. I would recommend the Zanesville Dual Sport for a '"warmup" to get you back in the swing of woods racing as enduros seem to have gotten harder as the moons slipped over the horizon, but they are 'fun' ...most of the time.  The ACES Series even has a class for 60+ year old riders. Call me for more info..502-494-1995...Al

Video # 3 I retrieved from KTMtalk from last Sundays Flint Ride DS ride .. For $35.00, a bar-B-Q lunch and a 100 mile ride on trails like this it was just too cheap..The  trails at this event are extra great as they only get ridden once a year and are on 35 private landowners..there were 240 riders.  Enjoy the Video...

Wayne:    Sorry!....I could not make it until yesteday. Nice place, my first time there, had a blast until I went back to retrieve my camera and was going to take pictures of the big hills.

I felt my swingarm move about 3 inches and realized that it was a flat rear tire! Bummer. Nice dark grey roofing nail! And of course, the only time I had no tire repair kits.....Dum-Dum

Still had fun, and at least it happened at the end of the ride, not the beginning!

Any takers?

     Ok, it's time...
Im putting together a list of 13 individuals who would be willing to work
the track for the 2011 EnduroCross @ the Pepsi Coliseum on Friday August 26,
2011 from 7am till about 10pm.
Yes, that is the Friday of the MOTO-GP weekend.

One new condition, you must an ABATE of Indiana member.

     What comes with this volunteering:
     1) The best seat in the house for the practices, qualifying, and race.
     2) Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
     3) Free t-shirt
     4) Admiration from all your friends.

What does DIRT get out of this, a healthy donation from the promoters......

Please reply to this email and let me know if you are wanting and willing to
work the event.

Sorry for the double post.
As many of you know, the boogie is underway or soon will be.
Abate locks down their membership purchasing site until after the boogie.
So, after July 17th, you should be able to purchase new or renew your ABATE
membership(s).
http://store.abateonline.org/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1

Thank you to all who have spoken up.
It is very much appreciated.

Sadly I've found that I just don't have the time or gumption to ride (in the
dirt) any more. It's been almost 2 years. That and I've only been a lurker on
the list as well. To much to do at home and work. At least I can get out on my
Vulcan when I get some free time.

Anyhow I've put my 1998 YZ400f on craigslist if anybody is interested. $1250
asking price. See the ad here.

Nope. Not a one!  What are you looking for in a hill climb? Your best bet is to go to Redbird.Or even Haspin if you dare... There are plenty of them there!

LCRP is has two pure single track courses. Very technical, guaranteed to test your riding ability. But you must have hand guards to enjoy.

Hey all you summer loathers! Where ya been? Nobody's even posting......

I've spent too much time at the pool this summer, and the green bikes have been ready to go for a couple of weeks now. It looks like we have some real nice rides coming up.

My plan is to ride both Matthews rides, Roselawn (yeah, you bet I'll hydrate this time) and maybe even Turkey Creek. Who's up for what?

Hey Rick. I'll take you on in that open-field drag race on the KDX's. (I can hear Kurt now,.."News Flash- Mosquito Foggers clear the trail at LCRP and other Dual Sport Events")
I got the coon tune done at Sly Fox on my green machine. Found the pipe was bent almost closed. The 'ol 2 smoker is ready for action!!

Any way. Who's up for what?

Been on vacation this week and just got back home this afternoon. Between work
and some homestead projects, I've been neglecting my riding responsibilities up
to this point but that will be changing soon. Plan on seeing me at the next few
events and maybe even a few recon rides to check out some new turf.

Also, I'll take you up on the fogger challenge.

Like hill climbs then Moto Supreme in Kurtz is your place. Rode there Sunday.
They have some if the nastiest runs I've seen.

They have one hill climb that is larger than any I've seen in this state. A few
years ago we watched a local run that hill several times without wearing a
single piece of gear. None of the other riders there wanted any part of it. The
local just laughed at us, then threw his over-sized girlfriend on the back of
his bike and climbed it a couple of more times.

I finally found Moto Supreme last week when I was taking the long way back to
Indy from Bedford.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=38.946930,-86.221481%20%28Moto%20Supreme%29

So what's the story? It appears like there is a gate and drive on the north end,
which is closed. There is also a 'parking lot' along side the road. Trails seem
to head off to the west from the lot.

So, is it cool to just pull up, unload, and take off down the trails, or is
there somewhere to register?

Also, a few weeks back, I tracked down Boondocks over by North Vernon:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=39.089920,-85.590027%20%28Boondocks%20ATV%20Pa\
rk%29 There is a home there, and I understand you register there for $10...

I was just in my truck w/o my bike both places, since I was officially 'working'
:) but both looked like plenty of fun!

Wayne Beams from the group told me about Moto Supreme. As far as I know, you
just go in and ride. I was told by two locals that the owner in his 60's rides
an auto clutch thumper and he had led them around the property before doing all
the climbs and had to wait on them each time. The two guys telling the story
appeared to be in their twenties. Someone from this group has to know the owner,
I would think.

I've only ridden there a couple of times and it's been awhile. Unless things
have changed, there is no registry or waiver to sign and no gate fee to pay. The
property was purchased several years ago by a guy who just wanted a place for
his son to ride.
