The IFC Board voted tonight to resume full club operations and to
move to a new facility at the Boys and Girls Club (BGC) of
Zionsville. The BGC is located near the I65 and 334, just north of
the intersection with the I865. We have a large basketball court
sized area reserved on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 – 9:30.
We will have plenty of room to grow, and to hold classes and
tournaments. Locker rooms and showers are available. We will be
providing classes to BGC members one night a week from 5:30 - 6:30 in
exchange for a reduced rental fee.
We are going to be holding fencing classes again so start talking to
any of your friends that might be interested in trying out fencing.
Also, let all our former members know that we are up and running
again,and encourage them to return.
Our new dues structure is as follows:
- Adult - $375
- Student (high school or lower) - $200
- Family - $600
- College Student Summer Session - $100
- Visitor Floor Fee - $5
Adult, Family, and Student memberships may be paid in 2 semi-annual
installments.
We are implementing a volunteer club structure as follows. Please
let me know if you are interested in helping out in any of the
positions.
Head Coaches – Jim Owen and Dan Davis
Assistant Coaches – open
Class Administrator (scheduling and organizing classes) – open
Publicity – Jamie Toalston
Activities (organizing events and other activities for the
membership) – open
Tournaments (organizing and running USFA tournaments) – Jim Owen
Armorer - Dan Davis
Purchasing – Bill Winget
The board also voted to set up a 501c3 corporation, so that the club
can operation as a true non-profit entity and accept tax deductible
donations.
I want thank Jim Owen and Jamie Toalston for all the work they did in
locating a new facility for us. Great job!
This is an exciting time for the IFC and I look forward to working
with all of you to make this a large and successful fencing club that
everyone will enjoy.
Best regards,
Bill
