I read somewhere that in anticipation of the Colts' Nov 5th game with
New England Bill Polian is already complaining to league officials
about the condition of the field at Gillette Stadium.
Does this guy ever stop whining?
First he bitched to the league's Competition Committee about the Pats
defense's rough treatment of Colts receivers in the 2004 AFCC game.
Naturally Peyton Manning's biggest fan, Paul Tagliabue, caved in and
changed the way officials call defensive holding.
Next, he complained about the way compensatory draft picks are awarded,
contending that the Pats had been given too much in the way of picks.
Now it's the field at Gillette that's not to his liking.
This is why people outside of Indiana hate the Colts. They seem to
have an entitlement attitude, as if everything the league does should
be designed to assure that The Golden Boy, Peyton Manning, gets his
Super Bowl ring. (Under Tagliabue it was...witness last year's
atrociously biased officiating in the Colts-Steelers game).
Here's a thought. Maybe instead of obsessing over the Patriots and
constantly lobbying the league for preferential treatment, Polian
should concentrate on building a defense that can stop the run.
