Re: [indianaeventing] TPH Hunter Trials
I just went on my first hunt and had a blast! I had a great horse and rode first flight- but the one really good piece of advise that I was given is that it is all about having an appropriate mount. Go for it and have a good time. Hill topping is a great way to find out if your horse is going to be ok with the dogs and other horses.

I plan on heading out to spectate and see if it would suit my horse for next year, I've never heard of this hunter pace and I wish I had gotten notice sooner so I could have arranged a trailer ride.
Does anyone know how I could go about getting an invite to go hilltopping or 2nd/3rd flight with this hunt?
A friend that hunts in a different state says that people often have extra horses that need miles and are loaned out to people without a suitable horse, I'd be interested in that too!
Kind of makes me queasy but it could be fun! | |
