FYI...at this year's IEA Horse Trials our rider representative is Lee Ann Zobbe AND we will be having a competitor's meeting on Friday evening. We hope that all competitors will take the opportunity to attend. The event organizers, the course designers and the TD will be there to answer any questions. You may contact any one of us or the rider representative to raise your questions/concerns.
When we voice concerns in a constructive manner--then no offense can be taken by the organizers or course designers. We all want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable experience. And we recognize that this is a mental challenge as well as a physical one. So if you have concerns, questions or comments, please share them.
Last year we did have several competitors/ coaches raise a question about the newly constructed ditch complex. A solution was found by modifying the BN ditch with some fill-in and providing an option to the jump. This is a good example of how competitors and show management work together to make this a safer sport. As organizers, we recognize there is a learning curve and a part of our job is the educational piece that comes along with the event. Please participate in this process with us.
