Just got a text from Andy informing me that he will not be able to
take the Tuesday class at Dinnington on the 6th July 04 so training
will be cancelled on this date.
Also just a quick reminder that we will not be having a Fight Class
this week as the women's group will be grading this Sunday and This
Thursday's class is cancelled as Anston Park is holding its summer
carnival.
Another reminder for Monday 5th July as the North Anston group will
be using the junior school hall (parent interviews taking place at
the infant school).
Anyway good luck to everyone grading today and Sunday, just believe
in yourself relax and enjoy the moment.

Firstly I think it would be a good idea to lower your kicks and don't
aggravate the injury if at all possible. It is important to keep
active and still keep that hip moving. Lack of use can be just as
bad as over using it.

Ok I've had a challenge for a while now, I have tried to ignore it
but it isn't getting any better. At first I thought it was just a
combination of being out of shape and age, and it may be, but I need
some advice.
For some time now, I've noticed a discomfort in my left hip. This is
particularly bad whenever I stretch my left leg, or kick with my
right leg (my left being the anchored leg). I particularly notice it
whenever doing circular kicks (roundhouse and such). Also whenever I
do circular kicks with either leg, I noticed that I have a tendency
of lowering my knee as I come around. I feel that it's throwing my
balance and my power off drastically.
Doing leg raises is different. I don't feel pain per see, but a
strange feeling. Almost like I stretched a rubber band across my hip
joint (only on the left) and the band slipped when it was fully
extended.
My Sensei has commented on it and has offered to discuss it with our
founder, who has studied human anatomy and exercise to see if Master
McDonald may have some suggestions. If not, I may end up asking my
doctor (don't want to go that route as I still owe him a few $$$$$.)
My question is if anyone has run across anything similar or has any
suggestions as to how to correct this. Sensei isn't worried too much
about me droppings my knee (he does about the same thing because of a
lower back injury). But he does understand that I'm hurting and
would like some relief. I would take a week or two off, but I'm
testing late next month and need a lot of practice time.
Andy has decided that he wants his students to grade on the 30th June

The forth coming Fight Back UK grading is now going to be held on
Sunday 4th July 04. Also Trev's will not be having a Fight Class on
that date as the grading will still be in progress.

We have now confirmed a date and venue for the next grading for our
North Anston club. The grading will take place in the Junior School
hall at Anston Park on Wednesday the 30th June 04. All grades from
red belt to purple belt will be grading from 6pm to 8:30pm.
Fight Back UK will be grading on Sunday 27th June 04 at their regular
venue but Andy has yet to set a date for his Dinnington club.
Grading applicants must have their grading application forms in by
Monday the 21st June 04 (give us time to get all the paper work
completed)

The Fight Class is going to be every week and not once a fortnight
like before so this should stop any confusion about what week the
class is on.

Anston Park Infant & Junior School will be holding their annual
summer fayre on Thursday 1st July 04 so we will not be holding any
classes on this day. Also on the 5th July 04 Anston Park Infant
School will be holding parent interviews so we are going to use the
Junior School hall instead.

Due to popular demand and constant nagging we will be re-opening the
Sunday "Fight Class" starting this Sunday (30th May 04).

Sorry but this class is not open to beginners, anyone wanting to
train will need to contact me first as the main focus of this class
is my personal training and so only those that are going to be able
to keep up with the pace are going to be allowed to train. Basically
if you can't do something no one is going to spend any time teaching
you as this would totally defeat the point of holding the class.
The other point is that 80% of the class is going to be sparring &
sparring drills so if you intend to attending regularly it would be
advised that you acquire you own sparring equipment.
If you have any further questions about the class just phone, E-mail
or seem me after training.

Just a quick note to congratulate everyone that pass last weekend at
the BMAA Black Belt Grading and a special congratulations to the 4
members from our North Anston club that graded to 1st Dan (now your
training can really begin). I will add some more details to our
website some time this week.

Sorry to those of you that loved the class but it has come to an end,
I would have found a new venue for the class but that would require
me to run it like a normal lesson in order to cover the rent. So
this would sort of defeat the point of the class as it was to be my
training time with a handful of experienced students.

Sorry but we are unable to use our usual venue the Sunday so they
will be no training for the women's group this week (this is more of
a reminder as everyone should already know). Trev will still be
having his Fight Class at Daisho so you are welcome to gate crash

Ok it is late (early) as I read this and respond to it. So bear with
me. This system is actually called Shorin Kwoon Do Ryu Shorin ryu.
The system is based on Shobayashi-Ryu and Chubu-Ryu systems of Shorin-
Ryu. Shobayashi-Ryu ( being the main influence). The Founder of this
system is Musashi Miyagi who's teachers include::Chokki Motobu,
Chotoku Kyan, Zenryu Shimabukuro, Choshin Cabana and most notably his
uncle Chojun Miyagi.

I heard last night that "Imptec" will be holding a competition with a
£1000.00 cash prize?
Some of my students and myself tried the new version out last night
at the BMAA, this updated version records reaction time, power and
accuracy. The fastest and hardest strike will win the cash prise at
SENI 04.
In the trails been run at the BMAA everyone's weight is also been
recorded along with the strike results so Imptec can gain a bigger
picture of what it takes to generate a powerful strike.

For those of you that train at the women's group please remember we
will not be having a class on Sunday 28th March 04.
Sorry for the inconvenience
Bex
Firstly there will be no training on Bank Holiday Monday 12th April
04, there are also 2 Bank Holiday Mondays in May that we will not be
training on (3rd & 31st May 04).
We are not going to be able to use the Infant School for training for
a couple of weeks in April so we will be holding some of the classes
at Middleton Institute on Barleycroft Lane in Dinnington.
Thursday 15th April 04 & Thursday 23rd April 04
There will be no training on Monday 19th April 04 but training will
be back to normal as of the 26th April 04.
Just a quick hello to the new members that have joined recently,
please feel free to add your martial arts links to the groups "Links"
page etc.
Anyway thanks for joining and we look forward to hearing about what
styles you train in.

I will be starting the class a little earlier this Sunday for some
personal training but if anyone else that attends the fight class
wants to make an early start just let me know (class will still be
finishing at the usual time).
