Kim Edington's Bustin Loose truck retired and became the Mr. Recovery Truck that
is now seen. It was the ITPA's best appearing truck and well deserved!
I feel that if we become part of the ATPA it will
probably bring heartaches like when we were with the NTPA.
I agree the money will be a blessing and ATPA is a
great organization but like NTPA they will probably
push rules on us. I think we are doing fine the way we
are.
The ATPA lets each organazation run their own
events with their own rules. All that would probably
have to be done is put some stickers on the vehicles
and display some banners at the tracks. Oh and
deposit the check.
IF YOU TALK TO YOUR DIRECTOR YOU WOULD LEARN
THAT
THE ATPA WOULD GET MOST OF THIS MONEY BACK THROUGH
SANCTIONING FEE'S. SO AS FAR AS THE MONEY
GOES IT JUST
CHANGES HAND'S. THAT IS WHAT I WAS TOLD BY A GOOD SCORCE.
IF YOU FIGURE HOW MANY PULL'S THE I.T.P.A PUT'S ON
AND MULTIPLY THAT BY
THE FEE'S THEY CHARGE YOU
WILL SEE.
Re: In my earlier statement,I let it known that I
felt joining the ATPA would be good for the ITPA,I
still feel this is true!BUT if its to costly then its
probably not a good idea,we have to do whats best for the
ITPA members and Pullers! But How long can the ITPA
stand alone?I know of states who have tried and had a
very long time of making it happen! If we can that
would be great!I would still like more info. on this
situation! How about the Outlaws? How is the Sponser
situation? Thanks for the time and feel free to E-mail me.
I believe we should take what we read on the
"rumor page" with a grain of salt. We know from
experience that the information on there is not always
reliable- case in point being the whole notion that the
ITPA was going to eliminate the pro stock class.
False. Before we take a stand on this ATPA issue, it
would make sense to me that we verify what the deal
really was. What kinds of fees was the ATPA after for
their $25 grand? I seriously doubt that this money came
totally without conditions and requirements on our end.
Also, I would be interested in knowing what everyone's
criteria is for the ITPA "making it" as a stand alone
state. Since the departure from the NTPA, ITPA
membership numbers are higher, end of season payout seems to
be holding its own, as does the number of events. As
a puller and promoter, my major area of concern is
numbers in the big classes. I would suggest going to the
ITPA web page, locating the director nearest you and
placing a phone call to get the whole story on money,
party affiliations and plans for the future.
cub482...........Thanks for the mail!I'm glad to
hear some info from a puller. If you don't mind me
asking what class do you pull in? and the vehicle name?
I am like one of the biggest pulling fans around
central Il. Have loved pulling for years, my kids love
pulling, ect. My whole concern is that it would go on hard
times, classes get cut,and pullers stop coming and then.......no
pulls to go to without driving across the country.
I
am sure that the Directors are making the right
decesion,oops mispelled,anyway thanks for replying,I would
appreciate any other responses, see ya at the pulls!
O.K....I have found out the ENTIRE story
regarding the $25,000 offered to ITPA by ATPA. This is from
VERY RELIABLE sources that know. It is true that this
was offered to the ITPA, however, each member would
have to pay ATPA membership fees of $250 per member.
This does not include ITPA membership fees. With 290
members last year, that would be about $72,500. Since
that includes insurance, you deduct 75.00 per member
which is about $21,750. The running total thus far is
about $50,750. In addition, the promoters would have to
pay an additional $100 for sanctioning, above the
ITPA fee, and $100 more in insurance. Figuring on 80
events last year (give or take) that is an additional
$16,000. The grand total cost to the ITPA, members and
promoters is about $66,750. When they achieve this, they
will receive the $25,000 from ATPA. Basically, the
ATPA would be making $41,750 from Illinois. Not bad.
The perk would be that the State Fair would be
Televised. The Directors examined the entire picture before
making this decision, which seems to be appropriate.
Wondered if anyone posting went to Ft. Wayne? We
went for both sessions.Session one went fairly
well.Great alky super class. ...Session two was a joke.Pull
was only half over when we left and still didn't get
back to Central IL til 1130.
Worst classes were
first, then smoke hose took a dump during Pro Stocks. Not sure
when the diehard fans got to leave.Almost as bad as
Henry,IL pull in 2000 when sled broke and they had no
legit backup.
While we're on the subject of the NFMS, can anyone tell me what happened to the
"PULLING POWER" website? Since I couldn't go last year I used it to get the
stats. Now it's "lost in cyberspace" to me
I want to say congrats to everyone that was in
the tractor pulls at Louisville! It was spectacular.
Even if something went wrong, being asked is the
best.
*****Congrats Jared Nelson on your second place win. It was so
close!!!
I'm looking for pictures for my website. I'll
take anything you've got. My page just has light
supers now, but I'm looking for pictures of everything
else. Expanding my horizons, if you will. Old. New.
Trucks. Tractors. Mods. I don't care. Send it my
way.
Thanks for your
time.
Beth
honda250xgirl@...
<a
