While In Louisville in Febuary I saw Lyndell
Waggener from Jacksonville ILL. win the modified 4wd class
in the Illinoise FarmerII. I can't seem to find any
info on him like were he pulls, the organazation he
pulls with and pictures of the truck . Any help with
this would be appreciated.
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Shawn Conner on the
birth of their new daughter. I understand that Grandpa
Bill needs new buttons for all his shirts!!!<br><br>A
big high five to ITPA judge T.J. Menn and the rest of
the Carthage Blue Boys on their Illinois high school
football state title. You the man, T.J.!!!
As the ITPA prepares for the annual meeting,
members are encouraged to use this forum to post issues
they may have for discussion. We all know how
important the divisional meetings and the general business
meeting can be in steering the association in the right
direction. Voice your opinions here and give the association
members and officers a chance to review your comments
before we gather next month.
To all of our pulling family Shelly Conner had
her baby Tuesday morning. It is a girl and her name
is Abbey Brayden Conner. She weighs 7 lb 15.5 oz and
is 20 inches long. If you see her this summer make
sure to stop and say hello to her and mom and dad.

Photo Joe has the top five results in his sight.
Joe Whitworth told me some of the Ohio boys were
running stock altered with .030 stroked cranks. Close
only counts in horse shoes and hand granades. Don't
know anything about the fuel issue.
Say, Can someone tell me what happened at Rock
Falls, IL at the NQS pull? I saw a lot of messages on
the Garden Tractor club page about some problems with
the law enforcement folks. I know that a few years
ago, there were some problems with drag racing in Pa,
and both NHRA and NASCAR in Ca. Both were related to
fuel being carried in their haulers I think. Are we
going to have problems this next year? Also, was there
some issues with pullers being disqualified? Why were
they disqualified? Thanks...John
Hi!<br>There was a request if we could imagine
building them a crossbox for a 3 engine tractor... but
that's about it.<br>I called Tom to figure out and he
said he doesn't know what Steve is up to in that
topic...<br>I was just told from other people that they want to
build a triple.. and thought I should clear out things
on the website.<br><br>So I guess the Bollinger
triple rumour is done.<br><br>CU<br><br>Sascha
The European news is that Bollingers are thinking about a triple Allison. I have
not heard that here in Ilinois. Can anybody confirm this? It's funny what you
hear about in other countries!!!
I agree it would be a shame if it left Illinois,
I've watched Tom pull for years. A pull usually fell
on my birthday, and I can remember clearly wacthing
Tom Nixon, Doug Leeck, and the Martin Bros. pulling
in the super stock class, I sure hope it stays
locally owned it's a classic.
Has anybody heard what is going to happen to the Screamin Deamon? Will it stay
in Illinois or are the Nixons going to sell it? It would be a shame to let it
get out of Illinois.
The only thing I'm leary about is I know of alot
of them that are running a pretty long stroke like
5.5-5.75". My engine is just a stock D-17 (4.5" stroke) w/ a
170 cam. It has maybe 70hp. And from what I here
there's tractors pushing over 100hp out there. thanks
<br> Steve
I agree with jdman, a D17 in a WD chasiswill do
well here in the 5500# class I have seen several move
there WD's into that class with the D17 engine and they
are very competitive, last year I saw two(owned by a
team) take 1st and sec ond places at Whittington, IL.
You will have plenty of power.
if you have a D-17 motor in your WD i would say
you would move the sled ok and im from new york but i
am living in illinois now to go to school if you
really want to think about it you would be pulling
against John Deere B's and farmall h's not much in the hp
department id like to see that D-17 motor in that little WD
it must be quite the little bulldog dont worry i
once saw a guy try to pull a JD 40 in the 55 class it
was pretty amusing and i like JD tractors if you
wanted to get a little dirty you can tie the governor in
an allis if you do it right i dont know how strict
they are about that sort of thing around here but it
is hidden behind a bolted on cover so no one bothers
to check it back homethat might help hey giv it a
shot if you dont do well there are other tractors out
there that might work better for you but with a D-17
engine you are going to have trouble holding it down
without enough weight just run it in 1st gear if you spin
out try it in second the next time who knows you
might do better than you think
Maybe I'll just have to try the 5500# class. But
everyone I have talked to has told me I'm not gonna do
shit w/out strokin it to atleast 5"-5.5"<br>Then MAYBE
I might get in the money. I've looked into doing
that and it's highly expensive cause you have to take
some metal out of the block and notch the sleeves for
the crank and rod end to pass by. Where you from
jdman? I've never tried a class that big. I haven't
pulled my WD yet (it has a D-17 engine)all my experience
has been on a 37 WC and I tried it in 4500# and
didn't do too hot. But like you said it's all about fun,
I just hate to come and make an ass of myself when
I can't move the sled. lol thanks for the input
my advice would be not to sell your tractor there
are a lot of wd allis tractors i know of pulling in
the 55 class with minimum modification and good fuel
you can get respectable hp and if you can scavenge
enough suitcase weights you will have an advantage by
being able to place your weight wherever you want to
because you have a lot of margine to work with as far as
weight goes some guys i know in new york have their
tractors tuned to run on airplane fuel and usually do
really good and stay within the top 5 besides you arent
going to win much prize money in antique pulling so you
must be doing it for fun and i really dosnt matter one
way or the other as long as you have fun by the way
if you know of any pulls left this year give me a
shout <br>by the way you are getting better hp than my
John Deere B so you arent out classed by about 15 to
17 hp i do it just for fun though and dont really
care if i win
I would love to see the ITPA have a 4000# class.
I own an Allis WD and like many others with lower
HP tractors have nowhere to pull. It is nearly
impossible to make a WD powerful enough to pull 5500# class.
A 4000# class would be a good starter class for
someone like me who are young, enjoy pulling, and don't
have the money it takes to build a tractor to compete
in the other classes. I pulled in Barnyard classes
about 4 years ago on my dad's WC, which I really
enjoyed. Then when I was too old for that I pulled garden
tractors but it is getting too far to drive for those, and
it's not quite as much fun as antiques.<br>I would
like any feedback. Tell me what you think.<br>whether
I should sell the tractor and go fly a kite. Or if
it would be worth a try. leme know. Thanks for your
time. Steve
The new chevron tire from firestone is at the
2000 farm progress show in the firestone booth. It
looks nice. The tread is very flat across (it is not
mounted) and the lugs are about 1/8 of an inch tall and it
is a ten ply. It looks different than the normal
tires but maybe it will work better and be more cost
effective, although, I would sharpen them before I hooked
them. J&L pulling tires can stay in business!
Scott, big computer catastrophie, ran add on
photo joes page, computer laid down and died, will get
