I believe we should take what we read on the
"rumor page" with a grain of salt. We know from
experience that the information on there is not always
reliable- case in point being the whole notion that the
ITPA was going to eliminate the pro stock class.
False. Before we take a stand on this ATPA issue, it
would make sense to me that we verify what the deal
really was. What kinds of fees was the ATPA after for
their $25 grand? I seriously doubt that this money came
totally without conditions and requirements on our end.
Also, I would be interested in knowing what everyone's
criteria is for the ITPA "making it" as a stand alone
state. Since the departure from the NTPA, ITPA
membership numbers are higher, end of season payout seems to
be holding its own, as does the number of events. As
a puller and promoter, my major area of concern is
numbers in the big classes. I would suggest going to the
ITPA web page, locating the director nearest you and
placing a phone call to get the whole story on money,
party affiliations and plans for the future.
