Gold Medal Squared Professional Scholarship Program

To All Prospective Staff:

Gold Medal Squared Volleyball Camps and Clinics is pleased to announce a new scholarship program to assist prospective staff with an opportunity to advance their coaching education and coaching skills.  This April, we will be conducting a GMS coaching clinic at Arizona State University.  We will be providing opportunities for our prospective staff to attend the clinic.

We are offering 2 types of scholarships.  With both scholarship programs, tuition for the clinic is waived.  One scholarship is designed for the professional coach or someone with extensive experience.  The other scholarship is designed for the pre-professional or person who is exploring professional opportunities or summer employment.

GMS Staff Scholarship Awards for Staff Training at ASU April 20-22:

·          There are approximately 20 scholarships available for returning and prospective GMS Staff.  Ideally, we are planning on issuing 10 scholarships in each category.  However, we may distribute more or less in any given category based upon the quality of the applications.

·          Scholarship Applications are due February 1st, 2007 (see below for additional instructions).

·          The Gold Medal Squared Scholarship offers 2 types of awards.  Each award has a different set of criteria.

1.      The Gold Medal Squared Award for Leadership in Coaching Volleyball covers tuition for the coaching clinic and a $650- award to be granted August 31st 2007.  The criteria for this award are as follows:

A. Being available to work 4 camps or more as a lead coach during the summer 2007

B.  Submitting a letter of application and resume

C.  Submitting an original article related to training, creating new drills, coaching education, statistics, bio-mechanics, strength training, etc.  Please note that Gold Medal Squared retains the right to copy or distribute said materials for use in its clinics and camps.

*Candidates will be selected based on their experience, letter, and the content and quality of the article/research/project.

2.      The Gold Medal Squared Award for Education in Coaching Volleyball covers tuition for the coaching clinic and a $350- award to be granted August 31st 2007.  The criteria for this award are as follows:

A. Being available to work 4 camps or more as a secondary or lead coach during the summer 2007

B.  Submitting a letter of application and resume.  Candidates will be selected based upon their experience and rationale as stated in the letter of application.

Ultimately, these awards are designed for coaches who are interested in joining the GMS Summer Staff.  We want support our staff in their professional preparation and development.  Here are just a few reasons to consider working for GMS this summer:

·          We are the brand leader in coaching education and player development in the country. The founders of GMS have won two Olympic Gold Medals, 8 NCAA National Championships and a myriad of other prestigious accomplishments and awards.

·          We are tied into the largest network of volleyball coaching professionals in the country.  Many of our summer staff are actively recruited by prospective employers.  Our brand name is a seal of approval on their resume.  Should you develop an interest in the coaching profession, we have the resources to help prepare you and to help get your foot in the door.

·          Finally, we pride ourselves in being a great to company to work for.  We are constantly asking our clients and staff for feedback and we take to heart what they have to say.

All letters of application and articles should be submitted electronically to Tom Melton on or before February 1st, 2007.  For more information about Gold Medal Squared and these scholarship programs, please contact Tom Melton tommelton@... or 530.520.3909.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee announced
today the 64-team field for the 2006 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball

Hello fellow volleyball lovers,
I'm throwing this post out to see if there are any coed teams that need
an extra female player. I'm very interested in playing on a coed team
but don't want to try to put one together myself. Currently I'm
playing on a women's C1 team so I'm looking for a team of competitive
nature. Primarily I'm a setter but I do hit as well and have run a 6-
2. Please let me know if I might find a place on your team.

Thanks,
Paula

The AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour's is live on NBC from Coney Island

August 15, 2006 -- The AVP Brooklyn Open Presented by Cushman &
Wakefield will be broadcast live on NBC on Saturday August 19th and
Sunday August 20th at 4:30pm (ET). Catch both the Men and Women as they
battle for big prize money at the AVP Crocs Tour's debut in the state
of New York.

The rivalry on the sand between the top two men's teams has heated up
as top-seeded Mike Lambert and Stein Metzger and second-seeded Phil
Dalhausser and Todd Rogers have met in the finals of the previous two
AVP finals. In Chicago, Lambert and Metzger swept Dalhausser and Rogers
21-16, 21-18. While Dalhausser and Rogers exacted their revenge this
past Sunday at the Historic Manhattan Beach Open defeating Lambert and
Metzger 22-20, 21-23, 15-11. Combined, these two teams have won nine of
the eleven 2006 AVP Crocs Tour events.

In the race for the Crocs Cup, awarded to the best men's and
women's team at the conclusion of the AVP Crocs Tour, just 20 points
separate Lambert/Metzger and Dalhausser/Rogers. With increased points
available in network events, both teams will bring their best game to
Coney Island. Tune in to the Men's final live on NBC on Saturday,
August 19 at 4:30pm (ET).

The path to the women's championship will be different in Coney
Island as partner switches have continued. Elaine Youngs and Nancy
Mason, fresh off their second place finish at the Manhattan Beach Open
last Saturday, will line up next to new partners. Youngs will team with
Nicole Branagh, the 2005 AVP Rookie of the Year, while Mason will
partner with AVP Star Tyra Turner. Branagh's former partner and
career victories leader Holly McPeak will partner with two-time indoor
Olympian Logan Tom.

The one constant on the women's side has been the dominant play of
2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh.
May-Treanor and Walsh, the number one team in the world, have won nine
of the eleven AVP Crocs Tour events this year, including a victory last
weekend in the AVP Manhattan Beach Open. In New York, the duo will look
to win their tenth event of the year, which would set the record for
most regular season wins by a women's team. May-Treanor and Walsh won
nine regular season events in 2005. Tune in to the Women's final live
on NBC on Sunday, August 20 at 4:30pm (ET) to see if May-Treanor and
Walsh can set the record.

Other AVP stars heating up the beach will be 2000 Olympic Gold
Medalists Dain Blanton and Eric Fonoimoana, three-time Olympic Gold
Medal winner Karch Kiraly, and 2005 AVP Best Defensive Player Rachel
Wacholder.

Do not miss the hottest action of beach LIVE on NBC Saturday August
19th and Sunday August 20th at 4:30pm (ET).

The competition is sure to be fierce and you do not want to miss a
single serve, dig or spike.

The 2006 Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament is just around the
corner!! A few exciting changes from last year:

1. All divisions, except masters, will be short court international
rules (NW handsets). Masters divisions will vote morning of the event
for court size.
2. There will be a AA division this year. This is for those players
who want competitive games and either don't want to BBQ in the Open,
or are tired of beating up on the A teams.
3. Jr. divisions will have their own age groups this year, 18u, 16u,
14u.
4. No "day of registration", all registration will need to be
completed at the latest the day prior to tourney.
5. Coed Open 2's will once again be on Friday/Saturday. Mens Open 4's
and Womens Open 4's have been combined to form Coed Open 4's and will
be the show on Sunday. Teams will consist of 3 guys/ 1 girl and will
have $1000 cash for 1st place. All other Sunday 4's and 6's divisions
will remain the same.
6. New MC!
7. No bottles on the beach. No wine bottles, no beer bottles, no
vodka bottles, cans are OK. It is OK to have open containers on the
beach, but not on the sidewalks!
They are enforcing this year.
8. Open and AA divisions will be seeded and will have antennas.
9. Seeding will be a based on top 5 finishers from last three years,
ratings from each region, then NPBVA points. Registration forms have
space for players to list region and finishes.
10. Registration is online!

On the Women's side, top-seeded Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh look to
rebound after losing in the finals in Hermosa Beach to second-seeded Rachel

AVP Tour Announces 2006 Television Broadcast Schedule

- AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour to be Broadcast on NBC, FOX Network and FOX
Sports Net -

LOS ANGELES, March 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AVP Pro Beach Volleyball
Tour, a wholly owned subsidiary of AVP, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AVPI -
News), a lifestyle sports entertainment company focused on professional
beach volleyball, today officially announced its 2006 television broadcast
schedule. Over 75 hours of AVP Tour action will be broadcast on three
different networks: NBC, the FOX Network and FOX Sports Net.

The 2006 Tour includes two new events, five new cities, and a record $3.5
million in prize money. The prize money is split equally between the men and
the women and represents a 17% increase from last year's purse of $3.0
million. This season, the AVP Tour will visit 16 cities, including the new
additions of Birmingham, Ala., Sacramento, Calif., Atlanta, Ga., Brooklyn,
N.Y, and Lake Tahoe, Nev.

The expanded 2006 schedule comes on the heels of a very successful 2005
season. The AVP Tour experienced healthy growth last season, including a 48%
increase in its fan base, according to Scarborough Sports Marketing, which
compares favorably to the growth in other sports properties for the same
time period.

The 2006 broadcast schedule includes four events on NBC, two events on FOX
and 10 events on FSN. In addition, all NBC and FOX events will be
re-broadcast on FSN.

"We are thrilled about the continued increase of exposure for both the sport
of professional beach volleyball and the elite AVP athletes," said Leonard
Armato, CEO and Tour Commissioner. "We are glad to be working with NBC and
FSN again this year and we are looking forward to our first year on FOX."

In addition, AVP has developed several promoter relationships to help bring
tournaments to cities that might not otherwise host such events. Local
organizers are responsible for selling all local revenue for the tournament,
including tickets, concessions, sponsorships and hospitality. Event cities
with local promoters include: Sacramento (Sacramento Sports Commission),
Atlanta (Atlanta Sports Council), Birmingham-Hoover (Bruno Event Team),
Brooklyn (Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment) and Cincinnati (Reach Event
Marketing). AVP's strategic alliances with top local promotion companies
allow the AVP Tour to have a strong presence in new markets without the
standard upfront capital resources as well as gaining year-round, aggressive
marketing and outreach for each event.

THE NUMBER ONE VOLLEYBALL CLINIC IN THE NATION IS COMING TO THE
PACIFIC NORTHWEST IN AUGUST FOR 3 GREAT CLINICS!!!!!

Thursday & Friday, August 11-12, Spokane, WA
Saturday & Sunday, August 13-14, Surrey, BC
Monday & Tuesday, August 15-16, Seattle, WA

Olympic Gold Medalist and the nation's number skills instructor, Pat
Powers, will conduct a three clinics in the Pacific Northwest in
August. The clinics are for junior and adult players, both male and
female.

****PLEASE CHECK WEBSITE FOR AVAILIBILITY OF EACH EVENT****

********************FREE T-SHIRT TO ALL PARTICIPANTS**************

"This clinic is very technique oriented. I have developed a teaching
method that OVER-CORRECTS flaws and weaknesses in a players game. I
have spent nineteen years playing at the highest level and the last
eleven teaching. I have developed a program that enables both the
junior and advanced player to learn in a comfortable non-intimidating
environment." states Coach Powers.

Why is VBClinics.Com the best?

1. Learn why you should backspin a volleyball when passing
2. Learn to get more power when hitting.
3. Learn how to time a set; and how to time your hitters.
4. Learn how to develop your peripheral vision when hitting.
5. Learn how to make your float serve dance.
6. Learn how to get into position on defense.
7. Learn the basics of non-verbal communication on the court.
8. A three-page handout outlining the secrets of the game.
9. Competition suited for each individual player.
10. Learn why you should broad jump into the set.
11. Learn how to snap a ball instead of hitting it.
12. Juniors: How to position yourself for a collegiate scholarship!!
13. Learn how to play defense in the two-person game!

There are three fundamentals stressed in the clinic common in all team
sports:

1. Playing the game three seconds into the future.
2. Using peripheral vision.
3. Reacting to bodies instead of the ball.

"The most frequently asked question is about skill level. All
clinics/camps have a variation in talent. The difference becomes
apparent when the participants play. To mitigate this what I do is
spend ~80% of the time on skills and drills. If you do a high level
of repetition reinforcing the correct way of executing a given skill,
you shorten the learning curve associated with motor movements. The
initial skill level of the player is not an issue."
