Relax. If you are not interested in the short,
now finished debate about free speech, then don't
read the messages. It's as simple as that.

What distresses me is that you are so concerned about
discussing Ichiro, but at the same time have no interest in
condemning the racist comments made about him. If Ichiro is
so important to you, why are you being so
tight-lipped? Or are you just another one of those spineless
people who would rather think of their own welfare than
to speak out against such displays of ignorance and
hatred? There are all too many people like that in this
world, and look at what a miserable place it has been
and is as a result.

As far as I'm concerned,
Ichiro is a great player and I hope that he, and Nomo
etc. will pave the way for more international players
to play in the ML.
Great game. they went a long time w/o scoring. so anyone got any news on Ichiro?
he's pretty secretive. we don't know much about him which totally sucks but at
least he plays good baseball.
I have and I know exactly what you are talking about but again I remind you that
this is an Ichiro Suzuki fan club and we are here to talk about Ichiro Suzuki
not America's first amendment.
You are wrong when you say that I am not
American, it is just that I have had the fortune of living
in a much more tolerant and beautiful country:
Canada. I can't say that things are perfect up here, but
we all have enough exposure to American media and
culture to know that we have it good up here. This is not
to say that I have a problem with Americans as
individuals; it is just that on the whole, Americans don't
represent themselves well, and much of it has to do with
this mis-guided notion of "free speech." I have heard
that argument before, that we need to allow "those
idiots" to express there opinions for the sake of proving
that a true notion of free speech exists; but you have
to remember, the average person sometimes has
difficulty with differentiating between what is idiotic and
what is a legitimate opinion. This is particularly the
case when the majority of people are bad-off and
looking for scapegoats, just as the Germans did in th
1930s. I think to allow someone to express an opinion
that is fundamentally wrong and offensive, as opposed
to simply being provocative, is just not a good
idea.
The reason we have free speech is that fact that
we are free people. Once you take away free speech,
then we are not are not free people any longer. Same
as fredom of the press. (internet is a good example
of freedom of speach) I agree with you that when
speaking, one should use intelligence. But, as you can see,
the intelligence of that idiot earlier was not to
high. Freedom of speech lets us identify those idiots,
and real quickly too. LOL. I believe we are on the
same side, just that you must not be
American. One
has to be American to understand the freedom of
speach thing. Anyways, peace be with you.
Malc
I've found that Americans have this blind
devotion to the concept of free speech without really
having a real understanding of what it really means; to
the American, it means anything goes--I can say
whatever I want because it is my God given right to do so,
evn if what I say is completely idiotic and offensive
and disgusting. And see what this belief has done to
the American nation; in the eyes of the world,
Americans are regarded as among the lowest, most vile
people. Has it ever occurred to you that even if you have
the right to express your opinion, that some thought
and intelligence has to be involved in the process
that leads up to the utterance of this opinion?
Traitors. This is USA, right to free speach, even
if we have idiots that voice their backwards opion.
My grandday fought in the pacific, and I don't have
a problem with any asian. Hell, I feel in love and
married one.(still married) I do not think the idiot
should have his message deleted. It is a reminder that
their are people like that still out there.
Hahaha that was pathetic. Do you have anything
against these foreigners? If it wasn't for them baseball
wouldn't be as exciting as it is right now. Or do you
think baseball should be an "All American game"? If
Ichiro sucks why is he leading the league in batting,
stolen bases, ect.? Oh c'mon and what is this crap about
Pearl Harbor? Hahaha that's the past you gotta let it
go. To tell you the truth all of your comments on
these foreigners are weak you could come up w/
something better can't you? Or maybe your just a bit slow.
Lemme tell you this, by coming on here and saying all
that crap you are just making an idiot of yourself
more than you already are.
Ichiro sucks why don't you people support an
american instead of a JAP. Remember pearl harbor and the
way our economy is going down the dumper do to the
NIPS. Do you dweebs even realize that you pay higher
ticket prices to support him as well as
dominicans.puerto ricans and cubans that don't even speak english.
When the next strike for more pay comes up you can
exspect to see your boy ICHIBUM right at the head of the
line.
Hey all, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am

Does anyone know whether Ichiro has found a
permanent residence in the Seattle area yet? I know he was
living in a condo very close to Safeco Field...but I
heard his wife Yumiko is suppose to be looking for a
house. Maybe he will move to Mercer Island like Kazu.
