Lake Jackson, TX is a very small town.  Roughly about 30,000 people.  I
think I stayed smaller hotel (can't remember the name right now) by myself
and that was totally fine.  I didn't feel like I wasn't safe.  I beleive
we are staying at the Super 8 this year, and I've never really had a
problem with any Super 8 I've ever stayed at.

Lake Jackson is a good hour drive from Katy.  I've done that before and
wouldn't recommend it, especially for Sunday.

Lake Jackson is south of Houston.  So, closest airport would be Houston,
and then rent a car and drive to Lake Jackson.
