I agree- because Lake Jackson is small, lots of the
hotels seemed safe to me.

I have stayed at the Cherotel and Comfort Suites
(that's where I'll be staying again this time). I
know many have stayed at the La Quinta and the Holiday
Inn Express, also. I would pick a brand name hotel
(exception is the Cherotel in Lake Jackson, which is
okay there).
