.500!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #3057 of 7970 |
We enter the All-Star break at 43-43, .500 for the first time since
April! And the team did it in superb fashion - Craig Biggio tied Barry
Bonds for 49th place on the all-time hits list yesterday!

This is good news; hopefully the team can keep up the pace. To go from
that far below .500 to .500 bodes well for the second half. My guess
was there would be no playoffs, but it is still possible. Here's
hoping! One thing is fairly certain - I doubt Clemens will want to be
traded.

Ok, that's four posts from me in a row, though some of them are
newsclips. Any chance we could get a real discussion going this week?
What do you think the team's chances are? What's your impression of
baseball in general this season? Gonna watch the All-Star game? Did
your votes make the cut?

Indeed, it is over .500 going into the break, at 44-43! Unfortunately, I no longer live in the Houston area, and am unable to watch most of the games on TV....

I think the Astros will win about 55 games at home. The question is will they win enough games on the road to beat out Atlanta, or whoever, for the wild card...
