I'm sure that all of us agree, that this article was right on; in
saying that the Yankees made a huge mistake, by not resigning Tino at
the end of the 2001 season. I thought that from the get-go
And, by no means, was Giambi a better defensive first baseman than
Tino was; I can remember thinking, whenever Giambi would make an
error or a bad throw, "see what you gave up, by letting Tino go"
One thing I do have to admit, although I hate doing it (because I
would never defend Giambi, by any means); he did make a few very good
defensive moves toward the end of the season. In my heart, I tell
myself that it was because, whenever Tino went to New York, and
worked on defense with players, Giambi finally had the light bulb
above his head go on, and, actually did learn something from Tino.
That's just my opinion, and I understand if some of you in the group
don't agree with me; because, we all know that Tino is irreplacable
