Ok, it's early Sept and I figure I need to provide an update (thanks to
Matt Young for jogging my memory on that).

The disk process is going well. We're about 3 weeks into the testing
phase, and I'd say we're probably 75% done there. Things are on track
with past years, with a potential early Oct release.
The new rating generation process went really really well, it's just
that we got a late start. Ken Danila's "voting" system got us the
ratings we needed in about 2 weeks time. So, next year, we'll get an
earlier start (if there's an NHL season to work with) and likely be able
to get a disk out by August. We have to work through a few bugs of
working with the data from the voting (we reconcile it against multiple
scouting report sources to eliminate anomalies....thanks to Herb Garbutt
there), and the team of Ken and Herb have worked closely with me to
translate all the data we have into a disk. It's looking pretty good.

Just a quick update......the testing/tweaking phase is finished. Things
went reasonably well, there was a plateau in the convergence for a bit,
but we got past that. Things look pretty solid. Working through the
building of the combined disk and error checking. I believe we're on
track for a release by the NHL opening day (or what WOULD have been
opening day).

The disk is finished.
It looks really strong this year, with a more balanced distribution of
ratings than in the past (more 1s and more 5s). It tests out very
strong. Also, I was very happy with how the rating voting system worked
out....I was very frustrated with the old review process, as it had all
kinds of problems....Ken Danila offered up a very nice solution that
filled our rating review needs in about 2 weeks time. We will be keeping
this system into next season (whenever that is) and thus expect that we
will be able to get a disk out earlier in the summer.

with Brian now to get it set up.

were getting hammered with spam registrations. The unfortunate result
of this is everyone will need to re-register.  I apologize for the
inconvenience but the site and gotten to a point that I just couldn't
manage it any longer.  The good part is that the new software is more
secure and will give us the opportunity to do some fun stuff.  We are
looking at some things where we might be able to host our own version
of WordPress.com or Blogger where you could host a league or team blog
very easily!
