I remember a TV interview with Roger Clark and Colin McRae on the eve of his
first "RAC" when asked for his advice Clark said to McRae "All the prizes
are at the finish" It seem that even the professionals forget this from
time to time !!!!
BTW we did the MCC/ MAC 1000 mile "trial" earlier this month in my BMC 1800
Landcrab we did 1400 miles in 2 1/2 days we started at 2.00 wed and finishe
the first section on Thurday at 17.00 in Bristol.
The Fridays section was a "tour" down the lanes of Devon and Cornwall
finishing at Exeter
A good event as it included old road rally roads like Park Rash. Kielder
forest drive, Bwlch - Y - Groes and the Abergwesyn - Tregaron road.
Oh yes we did finish and won a gold medal and the team prize but it was hard
work in the "Crab as it almost seemed that the car was wider than the road
in some places!!!
Looks like Mr Clark was right after all !!!!!
You can see a vid of one of the special tests and a bit of the Bwlch at
