Greetings Bruce,
Please join us for GREAT AMERICAN RACE 2007, Presented by Interstate
Batteries.
As you may know, 2007 marks the 25th annual running of the GREAT
RACE, which began in 1983. To celebrate this milestone and show our appreciation
to Co-founders Tom McRae, the GREAT RACE's first CEO and Norm Miller, CEO of
Interstate Batteries, and to all the Great Racers past and present, we are
pleased to announce that next summer's cross-country race will once again be
named GREAT AMERICAN RACE 2007.
Concord, NC is the official Start City for GREAT AMERICAN RACE 2007
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that GREAT AMERICAN RACE
2007, presented by Interstate Batteries will begin in Concord, North Carolina on
June 30 and will finish two weeks and 4,000 miles later in Orange County,
California, on July 14, 2007. Please note that GREAT AMERICAN RACE 2007 will
start one week later than normal next summer. This date change was required to
secure appropriate hotels and City venues due to the mid-week 4th of July
holiday in 2007.
For "Time Challenged" Great Racers, One Week packages are available
We are also very pleased to introduce two special, 25th anniversary
one-week GREAT RACE packages for potential Great Racers, unable to join in the
two-week celebration. To learn more about Great Race East and Great Race West,
please go to www.greatrace.com.
Additional Starting slots opening up for GREAT AMERICAN RACE 2007
Due to the increased interest in joining the 25th Anniversary Race,
we have opened an additional ten (10) veteran slots in the field. If you are
interested in being a part of an extraordinary adventure, please go to
www.greatrace.com to download your entry application.
Through the first 25 years, GREAT RACE has traveled along some of
the most scenic roads in America, visiting some wonderful communities along the
way. 9,000,000 competitive miles and 900 city stops represent a legacy few
motorsports can equal. So too are the millions of people, the Great American
Race, the Great Race and all the Great Racers have touched. It is an
understatement to say that the Great Race has been a memorable ride for a great
many people. We hope to bring some of that magic back for the 25th Anniversary
race by visiting some communities with Great Race history and stopping in some
communities that have only heard about this wonderful event but never
experienced it.
Stay tuned to www.greatrace.com and future emails like this one, as
the route for GREAT AMERICAN RACE 2007, presented by Interstate Batteries
unfolds.
Thank you again for your interest in GREAT RACE. Through this and
future emails, we will keep you up to date, bringing you the latest information
on the ultimate automotive adventure.
Feel free to forward this email to a friend.
Kind regards,
Bill Ewing
