Veeder-Root is a plus century old mfg of high quality counters. (My
father always used them for his pinballs & other coin-op game designs.)
All the pre WWI odometers I've seen were Veeder-Root. A lot of rally
devices from the 50s used Veeder-Root counters, including Stevens Eng. I
strongly doubt that they would know if their components were used in a
few rally odometers.
I have found a reference to a Navichron clock in one of my old books, it
just mentions "H-K Assoc."
