RE: [Historic Rallying] NAVICHRON RALLY DEVICE?

Not quite a one-off is my guess. The article says "several competitors" and
mentions the Delaware Valley. I'd guess that whoever designed this made a
few for his friends as well.

Back when we first started in the '70s, we made an odo out of discrete ttl
components. It was small, it was cheap, and it worked. After we started
winning, a couple of friends asked that we make them copies, so we made up 2
or 3. Never had the arrogance to put a name on it, but I suspect it is the
same situation here.

Bill, the fact that several were likely made probably makes this thing a
contender for your list. However, you are going to need to contact someone
in the Delaware Valley for more info. The best contact is currently selling
one on EBay :-) Ask him.

Having looked at this I would hazard a guess that it is a device that was
made up as one off by an enthusiast. Many years ago I had an RAF technician
who was into road rallying and he used make up devices like this because we
couldn't afford the professional versions(Halda). I think the clue is in the
description. I may be wrong, but I don't think I am.

Tom

This one is so obscure, I've never heard of it. Anyone recall anything
about one of these?
