Cars for Your Interest   Message List

Hi guys;

I received a line on several cars that are on the market and thought you might
be interested. If
not interested, perhaps you know somebody that might be.

Peter Gilbert owns the cars and can be reached at [905] 831-3278 in Pickering;
email
ptrglbrt@...

Peter needs some help in finding new homes for his little collection of cars.
He has a '76 Alfa
Romeo, a Triumph TR4a not finished, and a vintage 1970 Austin Ranger kit car, a
work in progress.
His health isn't good and has forced him to change his hobbies. He wants to get
out of the making
and fixing of cars and do some volunteer work at the Canadian Motorsport Hall of
Fame Archives.
He knows about the Ancaster British Sportscar Flea Market and is advertising the
cars through the
clubs he belongs to.

The following describes the cars and is based on an email Peter sent through the
Canadian
MotorSport History Group.

“1976 Alfa Romeo Spider 2L.4cyl,5 speed, fuel injected 95,000 miles, red, good
original car,
interior repaired new convertible top. the car was originally white with the
burgundy interior.
somewhere along the way it was painted red. the interior is still burgundy.
asking $7500.00”

" 1967 Triumph TR4A, doing a ground up restoration, the body was painted in Aug,
the light dutch
blue "not wedgewood" the other light blue, the engine, transmission suspension
are all rebuilt and
mounted in the car. The restoration has been going on for at least the last 10
years. I inherited
it from one of the builders, I am in the process of aligning the fenders doors
hood trunk etc. the
wiring harness, steering dash interior. have all the parts to complete the car.
I want $5,000.00
as it sits; as I complete more of it the price will go up. I would like to find
a home for it
now."

"1970 ish Austin Ranger kit. this is a car made in England much the same way
Mayers made the Manks
to fit the Volks. The ranger uses an Austin 1100 or America as we knew them, as
the doner.
Currently it has a new 1000cc Mini motor with dif mounted. The suspension is in
but the hydro is
not charged. Brakes are all new but no lines yet. I'm just installing new brake
master and clutch
master, as a matter of fact I'll be doing that this am after I finish this msg.
It has all its
parts to complete including interior new soft top and side curtains, fiberglass
top and doors and
windows. This is a fun car an enlargement of the moke. My adult children
refer to it as a four
passenger golf cart. It has some "provenance" the new word for history. Denis
Profit, familiar to
many of you, imported about 29 of them. I was in the right place or the wrong
place, as this was
the one he kept for himself which never got put together. I would like $5000.00
for it as it sits
and its price will increase as I complete it."
